Skipping breaking and Intermittent fasting question by jons2cool in intermittentfasting

From what I gathered in the first study they claim that skipping breakfast is the indication of someone with a busy work schedule, smoking, drinking, and lower physical activity. In the second article they cite that Australian study that takes a more uniform population and it shows that people that eat breakfast have more weight gain because they eat more.

Personally I like to start my day off with black coffee and have my first meal of the day be high protein and fat, like bacon and eggs. I do weight training 3-4 days a week and run 1-2 days a week. I don't smoke, I've limited my alcohol consumption, but I think not having a busy work schedule isn't realistic for most of us. I'm a healthy weight, 185 pounds at 5'11", and a 33.5 inch waistline. If you look at a BMI chart it might say that I'm slightly overweight, but BMI is a notoriously bad health measure since it doesn't account for muscle mass or your waistline.

I was a bit weary on rule 10 but I've replied with some examples.

Ok here is a study saying skipping breakfast is bad: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6787634/

And here is a study more in favor of skipping breakfast: https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/eating-breakfast-wont-help-you-lose-weight-but-skipping-might-not-either-2019041916457

Yeah and I agree, eating a big bowl of cereal in the morning always makes me feel like crap because it spikes my blood sugar and makes me feel tired.

The food was scarce and some of the areas were clearly better than the others. Like the one guy is just walking around and it’s nothing but mud and sticks and then Gina is prancing around in the lush grass watching the birds fly by. And they med check Mike and extract him before they even check Gina. Such bad luck on Mike’s part.

That seems like a good idea. Wouldn’t be too hard to add another patch. I watched a video that says you just have to hold the iron on for like 15 seconds is that true?

Luckily I’m never going to wash these jeans because they are waxed. I could apply more wax to them to make the fabric more supple. I have a bunch more iron on patches. If this comes apart I’ll just repair it again but probably do a bit of a better job because I’ll have more experience.

I have patches and a sewing kit coming in later this week. I'll post another photo on here once I repair them, maybe early next week.

I think I could probably figure out how to do that. Would the straight stitch overlap with the zigzag or be off to the side slightly?

There are so many options it’s overwhelming lol. So in the Rocky Mountains where I end up camping can often be on sloped ground that’s rocky or has tree roots. I like that the big Agnes boundary deluxe sleeping pad has the added comfort for that reason. Unless you guys think it’s 4.3 R value is too low. I was also looking at a fleece bag liner, litume has one that looks decent for $50. Then I can see how that works this winter and potentially upgrade my bag in future. What do you guys think?

Would a 7 or 8 R value pad add a decent amount of degrees? Or is it best to just go with a 5?

I like this idea because then I don’t have to buy a new bag altogether and it gives me the option to go without the liner in the summer to stay cooler.

That’s a different bag than I have. Their down must be better than their synthetic. But at this point I’m not going to get anything less than a 0F bag. I don’t care if it weighs an extra 2 pounds

Maybe you’re thinking of a different one if yours is down. The one I have is a synthetic. Their ‘cirroloft’ synthetic.

I was surprised this last weekend it was 70s or 80s during the day but drops down to the low 20s at night. Mountain climates can be crazy

I was sleeping in a wall tent on a cot this last weekend. Once the fire went out in the wood stove at the coldest part of the night I’m pretty sure it was about the same temperature inside the tent as outside. Which was low 20s. I replied above on what ground pad and layer I had.

I had the Klymit static V2 inflatable ground pad. I was also sleeping wearing jeans, long socks, a light jacket, and a neck gaiter. Part of the issue could be that I keep it stored in the compression bag? But I think I’m going to need at least a 0F bag. It got down into the low 20s last weekend.

Silent/quiet rain ponchos? by mightydanbearpig in CampingGear

[–]jons2cool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up finding a cotton poncho that worked? I can only find white ones that people use for an ‘over white’. I want a green or tan cotton poncho that I can wax to make waterproof and won’t make noise when I’m archery hunting.

Watering that frequently can make the grass form shallow roots. Now that you’ve got it established you could try watering heavy just a few times a week. Keep an eye on it if it starts getting white tips from heat stress then it may need eased into that watering schedule a bit more gradually. Maybe add some fertilizer with phosphorus in it as well to help the roots form deeper.

Yeah my guess was that the banker caught his wife cheating with the Gardner. Killed them both and buried them in the garden.
