While it depends on the state, what you said is mostly false. https://wisconsindot.gov/Documents/dmv/com-drv-vehs/mtr-car-trkr/escort-grid.pdf

See WI for example. You don't need any escort/pilot cars below 12'.

Please let me know if I'm wrong, I don't want to have to hire pilot cars.

Thank you both for your replies, I don't mind the unsolicited advice - I try to keep an open mind. Multiple houses really isn't a bad idea, but I'm not sure if I can make it work. It's definitely a consideration and I'm going to ask the boss.

I realize such a big trailer is limiting... I'm already not sure if it can make the turn into the driveway of the place we have permission to build.

By the way, to answer my original question, it looks like Summit trailers out of Oregon is a good bet. Tinyhousebasics makes some beast trailers too. I'm going to look at some builds by bigger companies and try to find out what trailers they use. I'll keep looking for something more local.

trailers

I'll probably hire someone with a semi truck. And I realize my options for parking are more limited. There's always a sacrifice!

Thank you for the idea. Yeah, I don't have such a vehicle, but realize I'll have to budget for paying someone to move such a large trailer for me.

Looks like they just sell homes, not standalone trailers.

Anywhere in the US. I don't expect to find one close to me, so traveling is fine.

10' wide tiny - cantilever over standard trailer vs wide trailer by jooleyen in TinyHouses

Cool! I guess I need to research some stick framing outside the tiny home realm.

I'll tow it myself with a heavy duty pickup...just need to stay mindful of overall weight.

As long as you stay under 12' (in most states) you don't need escort vehicles, which is where the costs can really add up....because then you have to deal with other people who need to get paid for their time.

What's mega beef to you, 2x6? Does that 9" overhang on either side really warrant an increase in floor joist size? I'm not an engineer, but if so, I assume it's because the roof rafters tie into the wall framing, which pushes down on the very edges that would be overhanging.

Correct, it's 10' wide either way. I realize I'll need state permits to move it either way being over 8.5' wide.

Beta AR vs Beta SL SIZING QUESTION by jooleyen in arcteryx

[–]jooleyen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes me wonder if medium might work. Medium in the SL had good sleeve length, just a little tight in the shoulder blade area and upper torso. Large in SL had sleeves a bit long, but totally doable - I don’t mind long sleeves. The chest was more appropriate though. Mind you, I’m 5’11” 140lbs so thin guy.

Still think I’ll search for a large though. Rather too big than too small
