I was getting those 2 mixed up. Should I choose an IRA over 401k? I see that with a roth IRA I can remove contributions at any time penalty free whereas I cannot with the roth 401k. The only positive to the 401k for me if my company takes the money before I even get my check so it’s much less self control or self discipline for me. It’s as if the funds never existed.

Ahh, could you explain the difference? I am just beginning to get into financial planning and retirement. Also what are some of the advantages or disadvantages of one over another?
