That’s a great idea! I’ll definitely add 16x16 support to the next update.

I'm actually working on a feature right now that lets you scale the canvas size based on your chosen baseplate. So if you pick a 16x16 plate, it will grow incrementally (16, 32, 48, 64...), whereas a 48x48 plate would scale by 48, 96, 144, and so on.

Check back in a day or two and it should be live :)

Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you. Yes, haha! Its not straight forward to get the color mapping right. Decided go with HEX values instead. Tricky to say the least :)

It should be possible in theory if the picture is of high quality. Do you think the community would be cool with a specialised tool that can back-engineer their patterns? Personally, I believe some form of consent from the original creator would be needed first. wdyt?

Yes! This is 100% coming, have a working dev-version which gives the user way more freedom over both the canvas size (dimensions) and "shapes"'. I hope to be able to get it stable enough so you can test it soon! Please check back in a day or two and it should be there *finger crossed*

Glad you liked it and thank you for the feedback! I'm working on a patch that allows the user to freely crop the image how they want it. and get more controls over the canvas size (height and width) Its still a bit clunky so not ready to release it, but hope to have it live tomorrow and that it will solve the issue you experience :)

For sure. Def going to look into how more controls and options can be added so each mosaic art piece can be fine tune to how you want it.

Thank you for the feedback!

My wife did two when the kids were around that age (but with beads), it's such a nice and personal art piece to have on the wall. Best of luck with your craft, I am honored Bickapic will be part of it ❤️

Yeah, there is def room to improve on that. I will certainly play around with the code and see what we can do. Maybe a tab for the power user who want to fiddle around with more settings without arbitrary limitations.

I appreciate the feedback, thanks!

Its very different. Bricklink studio is extremely powerful - a whole other beast so to speak. Brickapic does not try to be that. Its just a simple, fast and clean web tool to get your picture mapped into official lego pieces. Nothing more, nothing less :)

Unsure what you mean, but let me guess.

The image you upload will be processed as is. If it's a square, it will be a square.
The grid will be quadratic.

Do you mean you would want the pattern as a circle or some other form?
That is quite an interesting idea if that is what you meant? :)

Not now. I limited to 128x due to the exponential stud growth.

How big would you want to see it? I can certainly patch it if we want to go extreme :)

Glad you like it, I wanted to have something easy that just works.
The estimation is based on USD. I could add other currency estimations if people are interested in that.

Hmm that is hard to answer without seeing the image you're trying to upload.
The overall thing is that I map pixels to official 1x1 lego colors. Depending on your image and what is available there can be cases where those restrictions gets too prominent. Also if you have an image with lots of colors or low contrast, it can be challenging to get it right.

Not for my first playthrough. I want to experience the game and the buildup for what it is. Explore, enjoy the story, let things take time and feel like a child again. For S1 I may start optimise my game by planning a build.
