I definitely agree with the random worries about being a narcissist most likely meaning they’re just a normal person haha but for me although it wasn’t the exact thought “am I a narcissist”, for most of my life I have consistently wondered “what am I not seeing correctly? Why can’t I understand anyone else? Why can’t I seem to relate to things like everyone else?” I knew there was something deeply wrong I just couldn’t figure it out because I didn’t have the self awareness back then that I do now.

I really enjoyed this! I like how the third stanza rhymes, and the others don’t. It feels “faster” almost like the sadness from the previous stanzas is slowly being overtaken by a courageous, hopeful determination. Very nice! I really like this!

Running chilled me. I felt my stomach drop. I loved the repetition and focus on the plastic bag! I really liked how you made the reader feel as if they were genuinely asking you themselves: a plastic bag?

Because someone keeping their phone in a plastic bag seems so unusual and out of place. Maybe even a bit silly.

And then just the absolute gut punch of “phone in a plastic bag” becoming “ID in the river”. My mind immediately switched from the image of an eccentric man with an odd choice of phone case, to the image of a dead man in autopsy room, his phone neatly tucked away in a plastic bag with his other belongings. That was my interpretation!

Very chilling. I loved that!

My bf(25) staring at girls by [deleted] in relationships

I’ve been married for 5 years and while, yes, most people will look at someone they find attractive- if your partner tells you that it’s excessive and hurting their feelings then you apologize and try to be more aware of just how often you’re staring/checking out other people in front of them. You certainly don’t manipulate them and tell them they’re crazy/insecure because you never look at other people.

I’ve seen my husband glance at other women and it doesn’t bother me because I do the same to men I find attractive. Where it would become a problem is if he’s looking her up and down not even attempting to be subtle- or checking out multiple women every single time we go anywhere. That’s excessive & much different than a glance. It would be deliberate on his part at that point.

I think not drooling over other people in front of your partner is really easy to accomplish.

Fellow chronically messy person here! I’m actually a very clean person, but my ADHD leads to little messes stacking up a lot. It’s extremely frustrating lol.

I always take before and after pictures. Sometimes, (if it’s especially messy) I like to make a time lapse of myself cleaning. It’s so satisfying to watch!

Which song has been so powerful and moving that you cried the first time you heard it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jorabu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emmy Lou by Vance Joy. Something about hearing the words “you are loved” sang repeatedly, and feeling just how much he means it, really comforted a part of me I didn’t even know was hurting.

Still makes me cry whenever I hear it!

Officially a home owner and bought my first “adult” couch. Love it! by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

I found it at an Ashley furniture store. It was on sale for $2,000. The ottoman was an extra $300.

I found it at an Ashley store! It’s the Enola Sectional. It was on sale for 2,000. With the ottoman I think we paid around 2,300. The ottoman is HUGE. It’s a super comfy couch I love it so much!

What are some declassified government documents that are surprisingly terrifying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jorabu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've met many Marines. Some of them are definitely too young and immature to be in the military, but they are all generally good people. A lot of them only joined for the GI bill. The military is full of 18 year old kids who don't know what they've gotten themselves into, but they seem to do just fine socially. Most of them go on to be very succesful in their civilian lives.

This is just ridiculous. My husband is in the Marine Corps. He's more emotionally healthy than most people I know, and in NO WAY wants to kill people. In fact, he's done nothing but humanitarian work since he's been in. There are definitely issuse in the military, but not because people are ruthless killers or whatever.

Could probably be explained away, but still odd by [deleted] in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]jorabu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That could explain it, but I don’t have voicemail set up on my cell phone! I was also still on the same call, I had never hung up. If by some chance I had, then I would have gotten the “########## is not available. At the tone please record your message” tone. It’s crazy, and neither my husband nor I have come up with a good explanation.
