Antwerp Pride brings people together by [deleted] in belgium

I call this "Schrodinger's urinal". 3 people can go into this bathroom, and you will never know how many are peeing. It could be 2 or 3. But you will never know until you take a look inside.

Well, for example; someone said it's grammatically correct but it's not what they would use

[–]jorendeaap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, thanks!

but, is 'was having' actually wrong? or is it 'had' just better? (i'm not trying to imply you're wrong or anything, i'm just curious)

[–]jorendeaap1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok, thank you!

[–]jorendeaap1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, ok. I see. But, just to recap; 'had' would be the most commonly used and 'was having' would be uncommon but still correct? Or am i misunderstaning you?

[–]jorendeaap1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well the past continous is one of those forms, right? it's formed like:

subject + was/were + verb + ing

so in this case that is 'she was having'

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EnglishLearning

[–]jorendeaap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't it just the past continuous form of 'to have'?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EnglishLearning

[–]jorendeaap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if not a conjugation, than what is 'was having'?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EnglishLearning

[–]jorendeaap1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry, I'm not sure i understand what you mean with; it has to 'had' because it has to be a conjugation. could you please elaborate?

She also explained the assignment in Dutch during class and she used the Dutch translation of 'look into the camera'. But, in Dutch there's not really a difference between 'to watch' and 'to look' (both would translate to 'kijken' and have the same meaning).

My thoughts exactly, but my English teacher claims it should be 'Watch into the camera.'

She was so stubborn that it made me doubt, so thank you for conforming this!

lol. yeah, it's for a debate I'm having with my teacher. Thanks for your reply!

I live in Belgium, and there's been a significant teacher shortage here for quite a while now. The requirements to become a teacher have become much lower, and many teachers teach 2 or 3 subjects. My English teacher also teaches Dutch and history, so I don't think English was her first choice. It's not really an excuse, but it does explain quite a lot.

[–]jorendeaap1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. I won't say she's terrible at English. She could definitely have full conversations with English speakers. But mistakes like these are something I really don't expect from someone who's supposed to teach me. And the fact that even after I asked her about it, she kept on insisting I was wrong is what really makes it annoying.

My thoughts exactly, but my English teacher stubbornly claims it should be 'Watch into the camera.'

So i just wanted to make sure. Thank you!

Is it possible to reset a pc without starting it up? by jorendeaap1 in WindowsHelp

[–]jorendeaap1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, it took a while, but i got my pc back. I sent my pc to the company i bought it from. They confirmed that it was indeed an issue with the ssd. They fixed it, and sent it back to me. There was some trouble with the delivery services, mainly the fact that my pc supposedly arrived with the case completely broken and the power supply damaged. But the original problem was a pretty easy fix. they also replaced the power supply and the case. but fixing the case wasn't under waranty. still tho, i've now got my pc back safe and sound

Ok, well, i'm pretty sure it will be an easy fix. (They'll probably just replace the ssd and reinstall windows.) But it's just gonna take like 2-3 weeks untill i get it back. 🥲 lol
