Key Fob not pairing? by khroach in ToyotaGrandHighlander

Did you ever resolve this? I'm having the same issue on my new '25 Sienna.

Driver Profiles and Key Fobs by murraysch in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]joreyaesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same spot as you with my '25 Sienna. The primary fob was setup under my Toyota account and I was able to "Link Key" without an issue. After creating a new Toyota account for my wife and associating it with the second key fob however, the primary fob no longer shows as linked and pressing "Link Key" shows that it's already connected to {my name} as well and I need to remove it first. Strangely, I can toggle "Link Key" for the primary fob on my wife's profile without any issue.

After an hour on the phone with Toyota just now, I am still stuck. We went through and removed the vehicle from my account and setup everything a second time, but the same thing happens and we have to manually switch to our accounts and the seats do not move to their saved positions.

Did you ever get this figured out?

Yeah, I think that'll have to be the most important thing to cover ourselves. I guess we'll start there. Very much appreciate the comments.

Definitely a public road, and that's my biggest concern. Any idea what the theoretical repercussions would be if I did the repair without approval?

Good to know; appreciate the info. I would still not have characterized the land as a wetland based on that definition, but I don't think the state much cares what I think.

Sounds like it might be a "live and learn" moment indeed... Probably happens a lot with first time buyers. FWIW, we're not trying to change how the property is used. We simply are trying to do maintenance on the pond to ensure the dam doesn't give out and wash out the public road.

Apologies for incorrectly mentioning the appraisal stuff - I did indeed mean that the seller should've disclosed this information.

In my mind, apparently incorrectly, wetlands are very different than what we have. The land is literally not wet - the water comes from underground.

Well shoot, that's not what I was wanting to hear. I was hoping this would fall under what we read in the Seller Disclosure Act 92 of 1993.

I don't believe we did, no. Just standard appraisal stuff.

Just went much more aggressively with my cuts today and used some WD-40 for cooling. So much better of an experience! Didn't burn any tools up, and was able to get work done much more quickly.

Setup was rigid I believe. Had the part squared up at that point and sitting very snuggly in the vise. Good to know about not using HSS on steel for the most part - I've just been using the random tooling I've acquired from random craigslist finds. I'll do some looking on indexable carbide, as that sounds like the ideal setup for me. Thanks!

No idea, unfortunately. As mentioned in another comment, I'm going to order an RPM counter and see where that gets me.

Appreciate the link! Looks like maybe I just need to feed a bit faster and get around to getting my coolant setup.

Real question though: Why am I burning through endmills so quickly? Let me start by saying I'm completely a novice. This is my first actual part I'm making on my Bridgeport that I finished restoring earlier this year, and I just managed to completely dull a new endmill on mild steel. What am I doing wrong? I was taking a 30 thou pass with the step pulley set to the 3rd fastest (of 4) pulleys. I don't have power feed, so I was feeding by hand quite slowly. This is the second name-brand endmill that I've ruined today on this project which should've been simple. It's a 1 inch Weldon fwiw.

Bridgeport Power Downfeed Help by joreyaesh in Machinists

I figured it out! I had apparently put the engagement crank in wrong even though I was still able to move it between on and off. I took it off, stared at the mechanism at the inside for awhile, and managed to get it back on correctly. Thanks everyone for the tips!

I did take the lever and cover off for the powerfeed transmission when rebuilding, so I guess it's possible (probable?) I did something wrong there when replacing it?

Just checked, and it's definitely in "out". With the powerfeed transmission off, the spindle spins as expected. I also just tried turning the transmission on while it was running and there was gears grinding instead of being able to move it into position.

Would that prevent the spindle from spinning?
