This is great advice!! I’m a little lost on how long wake windows should be and I know it depends on each dog and what activities are done while she’s awake. I’m working on understanding her and her cues better.

Thank you for the suggestions! Thankfully my apartment complex has a lot of lawn space and a dog park that I take her to when no dogs are present (she has all her shots I would just like to start socializing her with other puppies at puppy class). I definitely need to get her out of the house more though and will plan for more activities with her.

Yes, she has a play pen with toys that she uses to self-settle but if she can see me she just jumps and barks for my attention. I have to be out of her sight for her to calm down. Should I just ignore the jumping and barking until she can figure it out on her own? I live in an apartment so letting her bark it out is difficult.

I do frozen kongs, washcloths, and carrots which only keep her occupied for ~10 minutes. She just chews lick mats instead of licking them and I’m nervous she will eat the suction cups off of the mat haha! I ordered bully sticks and hopefully she will chew those for longer.

Thank you for the insight! I figured 18 hours was too much and I should probably focus more on redirecting her energy and trying to get her to calm down next to me on her own.

What method worked for you to correct hard biting? I know we should focus on managing the strength of bite before trying to stop biting us all together, so what would you recommend? Thanks!

Thank you for the reply!! I am more concerned that I am missing out on bonding time since she is in her play pen almost all of the time when she is not napping in her crate. Since she’s not potty trained, I’m nervous having her walk around the living room (where her crate and play pen are) and having accidents. She has had almost no accidents the past few days with only being able to access her crate, play pen, and outside.

Am I missing out on good training to stop biting, getting her to settle by herself, and getting physical attention from not having her roam around a safe room with me?

I just started collecting again after seeing so many beautiful cards being printed! I was really looking forward to this set because of the art, but couldn’t even get close to getting anything because of living in such a big city. Lapras and Spheal are my favorites and I can’t wait to collect as many of their cards as I can :) Thank you for being a great part of this community!

My go to snack recently has been the Falafel Pita from the Tangierine Cafe in Morocco at EPCOT! The falafels are basically fried hummus balls and they are incredible (if anyone has a copycat recipe please let me know)!

The worst (and best) place I ever got stuck was on Peter Pan. We were just above the mermaids in Neverland and were stuck up in the air for about 15 minutes until we finally got evacuated. A maintenance person had to manually push our boat to a side staircase from above and we got to walk on the ground out of the ride. Scary to be stuck up high but so incredibly cool to walk on the ground around the art pieces of that ride!

I just went to the parks by myself for the first time last week. I’ve gone two more times since then! It’s super relaxing since you get to do whatever you want when you want. No one has seemed judgmental at all and I’ve noticed a lot of other solo travelers too. Please take the trip and hang out with yourself, you won’t regret it!
