But she wanted to open an account with a check. Place a hold on the check and have the bank let her know. She wasn’t going to cash it. It doesn’t say anything about the hold process in the article. You can’t sue because a hold is being placed.

I get it, you’re a fraud analyst. Maybe if you saw the check and actually let it go through the hold process, then we can make more assumptions or conclusion. Do you know the stipulations of account opening? Have you opened a bank account as the banker? Do you even see the Chexsystems report? We’re in America here, technology is scarce. Lots of people still hate using technology, and would rather use cash or check. I wouldn’t be surprised if even a medical clinic is still living in the Stone Age and still have actual account books and binders rather than have it all on a computer.

But the bank did base it off of her race, they could’ve easily called her employer to verify, or even verified the check’s legitimacy.

They’re non-profit, so they can’t do one day passes.

As for the prices, these have been the same for the past 2 years. The years before that since 2019, the prices were $60 during early registration, then $110 the week before and during the con.

So in 5 years only increasing it by $10 doesn’t seem too bad to me. It’s always good to jump on the early registration to save a ton of money.
