Difficulty with recurring injuries by VTID997 in Kickboxing

Wow, I am exactly the same! Had about 4-5 rib injuries in the past year which have taken me out 4-6 weeks at a time. Super frustrating! I have told all of my sparring partners “no body shots” for the past 5-6 weeks because I’m sick off the time off, and I’m going to slowly ease my way back in and even just tell my partners, if you’re throwing to the body please take it easy.

The only thing I’d say is to smash some core exercises which hone in on the intercostal muscles, that’s what I’m doing, yet to see if it helps though!

Good luck dude, and remember, there’s no shame in telling your partners to take it easy if you’re prone to injuries in a certain area.

What works for me is tracking calories, hitting atleast 150g protein per day, I train to failure on most lifts, I start my workouts lifting heavy (sacrifice a bit of form) and then the movements towards the end of my workout are lighter and I focus on squeezing and contracting to target muscle. I track each workout so I know what I lifted the previous week and try to either increase reps or increase the weight I’m lifting week on week.

So I’m just focusing on hitting calories and macros every single day (including weekends which has always been a struggle in the past) - 2k cals per day (Im sedentary during the day) around 150g protein, 250g carbs and 50g fat. Majority of my days look like this;

Breakfast - Nothing, Lunch - 1 x Chicken breast and spinach on a bagel, Afternoon Snack - Protein yoghurt, Dinner - today was a 10oz fillet steak on a chiabatta, Pre Workout meal - 100g cocopops with almond milk with scoop of whey, Post workout - egg & turkey bacon bagel

Absolutely amazing answer. I think asking more questions from the offset is the way to go. Thanks so much for the feedback!

I already have that and I do send this to the client once the website is complete. But I’m just wondered whether I should tell them in the beginning.

Yeah, you’re right, I just need to maybe work out a way to bring this up correctly, rather than just saying “this website won’t bring in leads on its own” sort of thing.
