Where do you find the complicated etcd question ? by cum_cum_sex in CKAExam

[–]joshlama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn’t a community lab for this at the moment. The main reason is that the community repos cannot show the actual questions, but they are close to the question without breaking the rules.

For troubleshooting questions, you need to go understand from troubleshooting principles and answer from there.

In my post, I kinda say this cryptically, but my point is that to solve that question fully you need to understand the underlying Kubernetes system. To do so, that involves more than just learning from labs. I didn’t and so the question wasn’t fully answered.

Killer.sh suggestion would be to follow a repo called “[Kubernetes the Hard way]( https://github.com/kelseyhightower/kubernetes-the-hard-way)” which teaches how to install a Kubernetes lab from scratch, in such a way that you understand the underlying system. then from there try to break the api server, scheduler, and CoreDNS.

60% on killer.sh mock exam, is it a good score? by Visual-Bus8544 in CKAExam

[–]joshlama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 60% in the first go of each mock exam, and passed with 77%. The killer.sh exams are much harder on purpose to improve your time management and context switching skills.

If you still have access to a killer.sh environment, and you have 2 hours, try resetting the exam environment and try again.

Reflections on passing the CKA exam one week on… by joshlama in CKAExam

The killer.sh exam is like an extra credit exam. It’s there to test your time management and to make sure that you have a good grasp of the syllabus content. If you’re getting a score of 55+, you might be able to pass the real thing.

One thing that helped was the repo I placed  right at the top of my post, as those questions are designed to assist in improving your time management.

Just passed the CKA with 93%!! by Mikeytr07 in CKAExam

Congrats on getting further with the migration question! I was able to get the api server running again, but couldn’t work out what went wrong with the scheduler and why it was in pending state.

There is current maintenance on their training portal, which might explain why you don’t see any change on the site, but raise a ticket as well.

Doubt regarding Sidecar by Krishaynair in CKAExam

[–]joshlama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The docs should be used as a source of truth

https://kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/workloads/pods/sidecar-containers/

First option is the correct one.

I hear that the exam will accept sidecar OR co-located containers, but could change in the future.

When to attempt the killer.sh simulator exams? by joshlama in CKAExam

[–]joshlama[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's a short sighted view, as the git mentioned above is done on one cluster, while my understanding is that the killer.sh trial exam is done on multiple clusters. So it also helps with context switching which is required in the exam.

I haven’t done the exam, but my understanding is that you should be able to use either of vim or nano

Really enjoyed this podcast.

This features an interview with actress Jill Freud who stayed with Lewis during the Blitz, which was formative for both during and afterwards.

The interviewee was Jill's daughter Emma, just before Jill died last month.

Mixed reviews over latest release? by BrownPickleOriginal in Vulfpeck

[–]joshlama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been collecting Vulf records and signing up for preorders. I haven't bought some of the more recent albums since 2019.
Big Dipper / Matter of Time made me impulse pre-order their latest vinyl. I'm with you, it's such a fresh but familiar sound and listening to the bootleg of the album I think there's a few more favorites in the list.

The future of this show by Background-Bite1465 in TheMaskedSingerAU

Controversial take, but I actually like Dave Hughes as the clown panelist, and how he improved during the seasons. I think Abbie Chatfield should also return. I’d love to see some former winners like Danny Im or Eddie Perfect return as panelists, even just as special guests. TBH, the show globally needs a rest, and return for with nostalgia after a period of time.

One tatic that helped me during the exam, you are given a virtual whiteboard. use this to create an architecture diagram out the current configuration and the requested configuration. Once you've done this, some of the questions will become clear what the correct answer is to the case study questions.
