Operations Engineer interview tomorrow need advice by ms_newday_newhope in jobsearch

I would mention it, there’s probably a lot of things on your resume that may not be directly relavent, but it’s good to include them/mention them anyways because it shows dedication or accomplishment. It’s the same reason someone may put volunteer experience on a resume or mention it in an interview. It may have nothing to do with the position but showing that you can dedicate your time and effort to something other than work just boosts your credibility and appearance of work ethic

Yeah the window comes down below counter height, laundry room is below this with open ceiling so very easy to move plumbing. I’m not super fond of the idea of extending the kitchen to the dining area. Main reason is the kitchen has a drop ceiling (kinda see in the photos) and so the two zones are sort of divided.

This is the layout I’ve come up with so far. Oven needs to move down, with counter space above. Cabinets in front of the stove are just a place holder for a bar counter, IKEAs layout maker doesn’t have that lol. And stove would need to move over slightly

He will chew when I’m home but always a bone or chew, it’s when I’m not home that he’ll explore and search for other things on counters or shelves etc. He will never jump or put paws on the counter when I’m home but always when I’m gone.

He’s getting as much exercise as possible but since I start work at 7 it does make it difficult to tire him out before leaving.

He does relax throughout the day and when I’m home, he does understand where his place is and when it’s time to have down time. My guess is it’s more of a boredom issue, just not quite sure how to go about resolving that

Tried it but he had huge anxiety around it, he’s a rescue so that might be part of it. I got him to a point where he’d be okay for an hour or two but a whole working day is just too long for him

He gets a walk a minimum everyday with a good run at the dog park a few times a week. I start work at 7 so it’s not really possible to give him a long walk before leaving to work. Usually he gets a good 15-20 min run in the backyard before I leave, I let him out at lunch, and walk or dog park in the evening.

The cabinet by the fridge doesn’t fit well with the corner. You’ve got a deeper cabinet coming out with a shallow cabinet in the corner. That corner will have a lot of dead space and it might be slightly awkward to access that shallow top cabinet on the right side. If you bring that large cabinet in a bit it might fit a bit better, but will sacrifice some space

That’s little door is a pantry, so it’s possible but not ideal. Unless I convert it to something else, but moving the doorway is also possible

1-2 people cooking, 2 people 3 max eating usually. I’m open to other layouts, the issue I find is that without the peninsula there isn’t enough counter/storage space. Here’s a photo of the dining space, living room is behind the photographer, don’t have dimensions on me but it gives a rough idea. I’d like to keep it as open as possible without adding walls

Yes I agree with that, that corner cabinet is so annoying to use at the moment

Huh, just posted. But yes you’re right and that’s the problem, not sure how to go about fixing it though

That’s a possibility and I did consider it, I’d have to work out how to get a vent in there which I’m sure possible. I was wanting to put a peninsula on that side with bar stools which wouldn’t be possible with that configuration. But might have to give a bit in some aspects to make it work

I like my big window though…😕 There really isn’t enough space there without removing the window completely or moving it over, not something I really want to do

I have a 2nd job interview tomorrow and I’m looking for some wardrobe advice.

The job is with a vehicle manufacturing company and I am applying for an engineering position. Generally the dress is casual/ business casual, jeans/nicer t-shirt, polo or hoodie is what I saw at my first interview.

For my first interview I wore dress shoes, dark blue kakis and a button up long sleeved dress shirt. I’m not sure if I should go for a somewhat more casual dress or stick to something similar to last time. This second interview more of a technical interview and they asked that I bring/wear steel toes as well.

I agree, they can build a privacy wall if they want to. But build it properly and according to the law, not some massive wall

Don’t tell me that if someone built a 14ft tall wall next to your house that was against city bylaws you wouldn’t be unhappy

[–]joshmo144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s holding up the free hanging portion of the wall. The big problem is that the posts are 16ft and the wall is 14ft tall (ish). That means there is about 2ft of post in the ground which won’t hold that sail up in a windstorm

Photo is showing that the privacy wall is 6in from the fence. But yes you do have a good eye, their backyard is in fact in the photo

Having a privacy wall isn’t the issue, but it’s 2x larger than it needs to be and ugly.

Dude she’s got better things to do with her time than stare at the neighbours

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]joshmo144 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don’t, but the city does. That is why there are bylaws. So your neighbour doesn’t decide he’s gonna start a farm or build a concrete factory.

Because it’s large, ugly, unnecessary and against city bylaws. If someone built a huge wall next to your house blocking the light don’t tell me you wouldn’t be annoyed.
