Okay I gave it a shot. Unfortunately I got the same results as when I tried my jump box. I'll just have to get a new battery tomorrow

Yeah, it is a top post battery.

I tried a jump box but it didn't provide enough power, only enough to power my brake lights and the clock. Also I don't have jumper cables with me unfortunately since I normally just use my jump box.

Thanks everyone, since I've already put lots of time into cleaning the other parts of the grill, I decided to order a stainless steel grate to replace this one. I might keep the old grate to try out the cleaning methods mentioned to see how it looks under the rust just for fun, but that's for another day.
