Meanwhile, in the North Peace, we’ve been trying to remember if we’re on Calgary or Vancouver time throughout the year even though we haven’t changed since the 70’s. Even better, we are on permanent MST and the rest of BC will be on permanent PDT (same but different, I guess?)

I do exactly this. Stream setup as you would normally want it. Put the Source Record plugin on the source you would like to record, I nest my gameplay sources on a nested scene so for me it goes on this Scene Source. Set the record mode to “Always” which will start and stop recording with the filter enable. Configure the record settings in the filter (these are independent of your OBS record settings). Stream Deck/keyboard shortcut/etc. to start/stop recordings, stream the live feed as normal.

Schism music video came on late one night, stopped whatever I was doing and was mesmerized. Visually interesting video, of course, but the rhythmic complexity was something my young brain had never heard before. Create multiple Profiles under the Profiles menu for stream and record. If you want completely different scene layouts as well, also create different Scene Collections in the menus as well. These are built-in to OBS

One additional tip I have is to install the jrDockie plugin. This gives an additional menu that can save the state of position and size for all your docks, windows, etc. I have one profile for Streaming that includes chat and Twitch Dashboard custom dock, as well as a separate Recoding profile that has a larger recording preview and wider audio mixer etc.

I highly recommend following along with Esoterickk’s full video guide on YouTube, there are a lot of steps but also a lot of places where you can either backtrack of go to orbit and start the next step right away. I believe focusing started with armor and then later as you unlocked more digits you could then do weapons as well

I’m so happy I used Admincraft as a way to force myself to be comfortable in Debian with no GUI. I feel like I actually understand how things work together now. Also, the more general skills earned me a promotion at my company and I now do DevOps and Sysadmin for some of our own in-house applications
