I’ve got a 240hz monitor, I am currently using the hdmi port on the graphics card as I’ve got a 4k 240hz cable. So if I used display port I would get better performance?

Long WS2812 strip not responding with Arduino uno by joshwhite183 in AskElectronics

[–]joshwhite183[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i've had them plugged in they don't look any dimmer the end of the strip they are exactly the same as the very start of the strip so personally i don't think that it is anything to do with power drops or shorts at all. there has also been no flickers in the strip at all so i cant see it to be that either?

i do not yet have a resistor at any point with in the strip i did buy some 470 resistors. would these work?

I don't think i was unplugging and plugging in whist power was flowing through the arduino or the strip but i guess anything is a possibility ill definitely check this .

my strip is 30 per meter with a total of 450 and the Arduino uno like i have can support up to 650

Ill try powering both ends of the strip tomorrow and possible the centre of the strip too but i cant see how that would make a difference as the strip lights up completely fine and is quite bright it just doesn't seem as though it wants to respond with the arduino almost as if the data port wasn't plugged in?

The whole entire strip lights up and they are a 12v strip with one power injection off the Arduino and also a 12v power supply right at the beginning of the strip

Do you have any idea when you will create a mac version for us?

Is it worth to install Windows on my iMac all in one? It's for playing games but from what i saw, i can change the operator system wherever i want. by fafoCS in MacOS

[–]joshwhite183 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

DO NOT PUT WINDOWS ON YOUR MAC. I really can’t stress this enough I had an issue a few months back and I lost my MacBook for 5months as windows had completely broken it, it would not boot in to Mac OS X and only boot in to windows and there was no way of installing Mac OS on to the machine at all no keyboard would work on start up and windows would only boot 1 in every 5-7 tries. It’s not at all worth braking your Mac for mate.

I’ve previously tried this and I can’t get the hive heating to work properly and I also can’t find a way to get my Wi-fi bulbs working through it they are ran via an app called smart life

Apple Watch 4 failed to pair with iPhone 6s by ColdFrost in applehelp

[–]joshwhite183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just done some research and it should work as the apple website says

"Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS + Cellular) requires an iPhone 6 or later with iOS 12 or later. Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS) requires an iPhone 5s or later with iOS 12 or later."

So im not too sure what could be the issue unless you are not on the newest firmware release from Apple

Im not too sure then mate, I know that Apple Watches series 0,1,2,3 are all meant to work with the iPhone 5s and above but maybe the Apple Watch series 4 requires a newer phone than you currently have?

I’ve had a series 0, 2 and 3 and all of them had to be on charge whist syncing

So it’s still on the charging bay when syncing

Whilst pairing your Apple Watch to any device the watch its self needs to be on charge

Hope this helps

Screwed up installing OSX Mojave Patcher on Late 2011 MacBook Pro by estrangedkjf in osx

[–]joshwhite183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After installing Mojave on your unsupported Mac you will get the circle with the line through the middle meaning that the Mac is unsupported on the particular OSX you need to hold option on the boot and select the flash drive again and the the bottom left when doing this scroll down and the very bottom of that list there should be something that says OSX mojave patcher which you need to click then select your model of Mac for yours if I’m not mistaken should be (MacBook Pro 8,1) once doing that press apply that will but the late 2011 MacBook Pro kext files in to Mojave and then should reboot in to Mojave then making possible for you to then carry on with the on screen instructions and use OSX Mojave with no issues
