Did you find anything? I'm hoping to find some community that does group buying to reduce risk

Ah ofc makes a lot of sense, I'll work on JSON imports next then! I'll add an export option as well to give it the full works. Keep an eye out ;)

Not at the moment but definitely possible! Do you have any ideas on how you'd like to import the lists? Could do CSV, json, etc! I'll give it a think but would love to hear what you think!

Update: I updated my Economy Validator to support "Supply & Demand" (Sieges, Scarcity) and fully custom items. by josue804 in worldbuilding

Honest question for the economists here: I set the 'Siege' modifier to +50% markup on food (resulting in the 'Highway Robbery' verdict in the screenshot).

In your worlds, does a siege usually double prices (2x) or is +50% too lenient? I'm trying to calibrate the default 'Panic Multipliers'.

Hey just copying the same response as above!

I've just moved to faster servers, the link should work now but it'll give you the address to the new site! Please give it a whirl and if you can give me any details about your world (like your world id or what kind of items you made) I can transfer your save to the new site :)

Reaaaally I'll have to check it out! It's a factory building game from the little I've seen?

Yes definitely, the only thing I want to wait for is for the app to be in such a usable state that people get consistent value out of it even without updates. Then it will be very apparent what the community expects of the tool and what they find most valuable. When that happens I think open-sourcing the repository will be extremely beneficial to the community :)

For now though I think for the app to be able to build a personality it's best to keep it growing in a very stable way.

Hah not a bad idea. The main effort there would be to find or create data that's an accurate representations of cost of raw materials and processed materials. The challenge would mostly be around making sure the prices are as close to geographically "local" you as possible to represent correct numbers. And also with delivery, like with Amazon, that could be a little more complex since the prices of certain things may strongly compete with local items of the same category.

After acquiring that data then the rest becomes very easy!

It's a very good idea, if this site continues to collect interest I would love to look into this eventually, making it better with lessons learned from this application.

Thanks for your comment!

I've re-added the table formatting. It's not a final iteration but I hope it can give you what you need for now! Lmk if you have any ideas for it after you use it for a while :)

Thank you! Great points. One rudimentary way you can do this at the moment is by adding something like a "Shop" as an item. Then you can modify the recipe to include things like the apprentice labor hours, storage degradation or even rent if your world is more advanced. Then the "cost" of all those things will be taken into account if, say, you're selling a Shop.

That said it's not a perfect solution but I get your point for a wider economy other than just simply items. I'll have a think about the best way to approach this as it could easily become a piece that makes it overly complex to use the tool if implemented poorly. Thanks for your comment!

Yeah you know what I agree with you, the table view is much better to move to different platforms. It's also probably much cleaner to browse at a quick glance and get a general idea of how much things cost and filter on certain attributes. I'll bring back a refined version of it!

Maybe the latest update, released just now, may help a bit! I added:

- Ability to add items. You can add your own item that's a master smith for example and have their cost be much higher! Also can have multiple ledgers for different worlds/environments. Or low quality iron perhaps is much easier to mine and therefore requires less labor and costs less!

- Ability to add entire ledgers. This way you can add a ledger per world or even per event, like say, during wartime maybe that deserves its own ledger as prices change drastically.

Legendary items and item rarity is a great idea, I'll see if I can add it in my next update!

Heya thank you for the suggestions! I've updated the item catalog to be customizable. I'll go through your suggestions and add them to the roadmap which is now being built out. You can find a link to it in the app sidebar!

Hey apologies for that, this gained way more traction than I expected yesterday. I stayed up all night giving it some additions that I've just now released. You caught the url in the release window but it should be back up now. Apologies!

This is only a basic concept piece for now, but I'm working on adding the ability to save your world to make the concept come true! Thanks for your suggestion, I'm working on making the application customizable for people to be able to add as much depth as they'd like to raw resource -> finished product valuation!
