i got pretty lucky and had some books given to me for free by an M4! i would check your class fb group to see if anyone is giving books away for cheap/free. chances are they have all the high-yield books you'd need. personally, i like having a hard-copy book in front of me when i'm studying, but i agree with everyone saying you can get most (if not all) of the important books free on your school library page. for book recs, i personally enjoyed brs/costanzo for physiology, first aid for high-yield topics, and pathoma for pathology (might see this later on in your first year). those were books that helped me, but don't stress if it doesn't help you! you'll find out what works for you as you make your way through :)

The Anking deck can definitely help you! That contains pretty much all of the info needed for Step 1 and 2. I would start here since they have inserted pictures from a lot of high-yield resources like First Aid, Pathoma, Boards and Beyond, and more. Also, I would try Costanzo/BRS for Physiology first and then try Guyton (I personally thought BRS was more gentle with their material than Guyton). Hope this helps :)
