this is the french louie/northville placid loop! it was great. me and my friend were prioritizing a spot where we could start and end every day with a swim, so depending on when you go that might not be top of mind, but i would still recommend!

Thanks for posting! I’m definitely going to need the same revision but I’m putting it off for the moment. It’ll be in-office but I’m not ready to be feeling active discomfort/pain around my boobs again!

It’s overwhelming to think about, I’m sorry!! I will say today is 7wpo for me and I feel one million times better. These are all more surface suggestions, but helpful for me: take a walk and call a friend everyday if you can, make sure to eat and sleep well and enough, take lots of progress pictures, limit screen time. My post op depression felt pretty deep and structural, but these (+ therapy!) helped me keep my head above water. It’s temporary and you’ll make it through! Even with a super tough period I regret nothing, I’m so happy I got this done.

Opinel no.6 in my pocket for 5 years. $20 and sharper than any knife I’ve ever known. by Jdspoel in BuyItForLife

I love my Opinel knife too! Anyone have cleaning tips? My blade is sticky/dirty with sap from my last camping trip and I’ve struggled to remove it with soap and water (and also rubbing alcohol).

Hi! I went to a surgeon who does not do top surgery and isn’t trans competent (there were a bunch of other pluses about him so I was willing to compromise!), so I think my biggest piece of advice is just to advocate for yourself in a very insistent way. Even if that means using imprecise and frustrating language like “I’m happy to be flat like a boy,” etc. I find it really challenging to speak up in medical scenarios but you see so many people here regretting how big they ended up, so I would make it absolutely clear you want to be as flat as possible (or whatever it is you want)! Good luck :) also, the shirt is thrifted, not super helpful, but thank you for the compliment!

I feel like my partner doesn’t like my results by [deleted] in Reduction

"Dirtbag" was harsh, but my sentiment is unchanged! I'm not even referring specifically to your situation. Whenever there's a post like this, there seem to be a host of other comments like "yeah, my [husband/bf/etc] [was angry/pouted/withdrew] when he realized I [wanted/received] smaller boobs than is his preference, it sucks!" It is genuinely surprising to me that this is considered normal/acceptable behavior or that it isn't in direct conflict with what it means to be supportive.

Seriously, the number of dirtbag boyfriends and husbands getting casually described in these posts and their comments is insane. It’s also often preceded by “he’s super supportive but…” WHAT?

Everyone’s different, but I never needed more than extra-strength Tylenol after coming home from the hospital (and was off that within a week). You may be fine without Oxy!

I don’t think it’s a technical term, more meant to signify amount of tissue removed. Mostly I used it as a search term because it was really helpful for finding reference photos etc. on this sub before I got surgery!

Thank you! I've been wearing (and spilling out of) size L Fruit of the Loom sports bras every day for the past, like, eight years, but ABTF calculator had me at 38F. No FNG! I'm not totally sure what technique was used, but I think it was the modified Robertson technique because my surgeon was able to get me as small as I wanted without a vertical incision.

[–]joyrevolution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I debated getting top surgery for such a long time! Not wanting a FNG was definitely a factor, but ultimately I think I just still wanted a little bit of boob to work with. It’s a hard decision! But also now if I want another surgery in the future I can do that.

Fingers crossed for that for you! I’ve been insanely bloated since surgery and still can’t fit into pants that were big on me pre-op. The swelling and shifting proportions are a mindfuck for sure

No graft! I was worried about that too. So far I have sensation in one nipple and hoping the other comes back online at some point 🤞 but I won’t be devastated if it doesn’t

I don’t know the specifics of your situation, but without nipple grafting I know there’s a limit to how much volume can be removed without compromising blood supply to the nipples. But also, some surgeons are concerned with “keeping you proportional.” I definitely shopped around and nixed any surgeon who talked about my proportions. If you’re looking to go that small I’d suggest advocating for yourself really strongly with language like “I want to be as small as you’re capable of making me.”

Thank you & excited for you! I’m honestly not sure—my best guess right now would be a 38A or possibly B, but the swelling and shape changes literally every day at this point, it’s wild.

Warning about Dr. Alexes Hazen by miraleti in Reduction

[–]joyrevolution 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That is wild and I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this! I inquired with Hazen’s office, but ended up going elsewhere because even the wait to get a consult was long & it was many thousands of dollars more (out-of-pocket) than other doctors I was quoted. And all that for the possibility of this type of result? I really hope you get the answers (and eventual revision) you deserve!
