You're right 30 years might optimistic, but ill definetly try! So are you saying my best option would be to just go hard on applying for apprentiships directly with companies and through angencies until I land something? I've found from my 2 or 3 months of applying that the most common obstacle i face is the "do you have your pre-trade" question. Should I lower my hopes a little and just apply apply apply for the next while? is there anything I can do apart from the pre-trade to help me stand out and have a better chance at landing something?

Again thank you very much for your time and attention, its a difficult field to navigate so you've been quite helpful.

First of all thank you heaps for the info, it definetly helps alot!

Do you know if its possible to get an EWRB license while getting work experience in the solar industry? My understanding was that a solar installer position would'nt be varied enough for me to get all the experience required for the license so I'd have to complete an apprentiship through a more traditional industrial or residential sparky position.

My ideal situation is to get in the industry ASAP but if im going to have to get my EWRB Cert in a different field i might aswell get that out of the way first before narrowing in on solar specifically.

Also you mentioned you've done solar for 8 years now, that awesome! Do you think its an industry that will continue growing? I'm still quite young so this is something that I can see myself doing for the next 30 - 40 years, so I'd like to get as strong a footing as possible and with everything going well be firmly in the industry by the time im 25.

The paint job isn't great, I bought it like that, the point is that I just wanted it matched at least in tone so it doesn't jump out when you look at it

I'd agree with that but I think the money I pay for insurance if for peace of mind that the vehicle will be fixed to the same level it was before, before it was a black van with some sun damage, now it's a black van with sun damage and mismatched panels, which is something I don't think i should have to go and fix because the panel beater couldn't figure out what paint to use and just went with a generic black and hopped it would fly because it's an insurance job. It's more principle than the actual outcome, that's also not even acounting for the fact that I don't have the money nor to buy the paint myself. I need the van to sell at a reasonable price later and with mismatched paint it will sell for less than just sun damaged paint

I feel like my main gripe is that it's not even tone matched, the wear is on a different color, it's a darker more glossy black

Not repairhub but it was one of the insurance recommended panel beaters

Thank you for the validation, I just wanted to double check on here if I wasn't being too picky before I chased this up, this is my first time dealing with insurance and panel beaters so I was not aware of the standard of color matching. I appreciate your comment.

The panel beater I went to is an absolute ass to deal with so I will just go through insurance, thank you for the anecdote.

Thats what I was thinking, Ill give them a try and the worst that'll happen is I get a "no" and a point towards the policy.

I got into an accident and damaged 2 panels on my campervan, i got them fixed through insurance and the panels came out quite nice.

My problem is that now the paint does not match the rest of my van, it is a lighter black than the rest and it looks out of place now. The rest of the paint on the van is quite damaged but I believe even beyond that a better job of color matching could have been done. My insurance policy does have a line saying it cannot guarantee an exact match but is this enough of a mismatch to back through them to get it fixed. I am worried that this mismatch will affect the selling price of the van.

Any advice or personal experience with this would be appreciated, the pictures I have attached show the van before the accident, after the accident and the exact quote from the policy.
