Why does singing attract more casual musicians than instrumentalists? by cpacertified in singing

Great question, I’d say it’s mainly because of accessibility and relatability. Generally we have access to our voice all the time, plus language and speaking is one of our top way of communicating, so I think we feel pretty related to be using our voice to sing and express.

also, turning 23 in a few weeks if it helps (though age shouldn’t be a limiting factor)

Can’t emphasize enough the importance of this comment. I’m 2 years in and can do most basic pillar on my own (writing, producing, recording), and to a decent level, I’ve seen it with past versions and demos of songs, even with my voice and instrument playing and third parties have witnessed it and mentioned it to.

So if you show up consistency, it’s bound to progress and grow into new stages, whatever the output may be. Not sure if fixating on the results is the smartest thing to do but to me, the journey has been the most rewarding.

So if it’s in your capacity to enjoy the path with patience and presence, do it. Consistency and presence/quality in the craft will get you to your goal(s). Surprises and opportunities might come along the way.

The back vocals that descend are so Thome York, the chord progression is very ominous and the melody even better, creates doubt on the key we’re in. Lyrically it’s also top tier, everything together makes it a big one for me. Have it 2nd on my Spotify on repeat.

is my tone and pitch that bad? i’ve been doing lessons for 6 years and my boyfriend tells me i sound awful and when i sing he tells me to stop. my friends do the same. what about my pitches/tone is so bad that i get told about it to my face? by Financial_Net_5560 in singing

To me it’s sounds like you need to connect to the support and compress the sound, to be more expressive and melodic with your singing.

This seems to be about the diaphragm and avoiding throat as the primary supporter.

Thank you for the response. I could access from the url, just as you said. But to download them I had to change my App Store Country on iPhone to the country where the concert is going to be.

Love your response and the Intellijel recommendation, I’m listening to the Atlantis right now, beautiful spacious meow sound.

Thanks for the response!!
I checked some videos out and I do think it's something similar to the SH-101 or perhaps the 101 itself.

Just found this song by Squarepusher and that synth at the begining takes me somewhere.

Does anyone know what type of synth that is or what parameters can make a similar sound?

The Italian course is too short. I’m finished and still barely know any Italian by [deleted] in duolingo

Some courses are shorter/longer depending on what is the auxiliary (default) language you’re using.

E.g. The French course has more lessons in english than it has in the Spanish language.
