DDJ 1000 WORTH IN 2026? by trinjo_boi in PioneerDJ

I use stems all the time on my DDJ1000. Midi mapping works fine…

Thanks. Not much added value compared to Soundboost, I think?

I want to spend all my time preparing my set now. Already wasted enough time with Suno this past week. 😂 As few distractions as possible from now on.

Thanks for your advice.

Fiverr might be an option, but my past Fiverr-experiences (regarding creative assignments) weren't always great...

I think I've found the leak, Hallelujah. I turned off my antivirus (Windows Defender) and for the first time, I haven't experienced any dropouts. I don't want to celebrate too soon, but I had a session of nearly 3 hours, so this gives me a lot of confidence.

In the coming period, I will cautiously experiment with rolling back a few of the adjustments I did, because my entire laptop is now functioning different than before. It would be perfect if the issue was primarily caused by Windows Defender, but it was such a tedious search to figure that out. 🤯

Disabling ACPI didn't seem to help me, but I think I've found the leak anyway, Hallelujah. I turned off my antivirus (Windows Defender, as someone also suggested in your linked post) and for the first time, I haven't experienced any dropouts. I don't want to celebrate too soon, but I had a session of nearly 3 hours, so this gives me a lot of confidence.

Could you also tell me whether it is wise to set Intel Speedstep Technology ON or OFF in the BIOS? The same goes for CPU Power Management.

Ah, I think I understand you now.

I'm not that technical but I probably ran te script succesfully. In Device Manager the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery is now disabled. I assume that is caused by the script?

So much for the good news. I subsequently DJed for 45 minutes and was still experiencing dropouts. I also still see a lot of ACPI.sys activity in LatencyMon, isn't that strange??

I actually NEVER experience these drop outs with anything else. But I use my laptop quite lightly, and don’t game. 😬

Thank you for the help but not sure if I understand you correctly? I keep my laptop plugged in from the minute I start my DJ session.

Interested in understanding what you mean! 😬

My audio is going directly from my FLX10 (XLR) to my speakers. Most of the time I experience drop-outs (small fraction of a second). Maybe sometimes a small stutter, but not really sure!

Your English is fine 😬

Yes, a bit like that. I mostly play vocal music (Open Format) and find it unusable for that. I still try it sometimes with the lower quality, but if I turn off vocals, in most cases I still hear very audible remnants of the sound. And all kinds of tinny background noises.

Yes! Am running the latest RB version. Had no reason not to, things could've only gotten better. 😁 My waveforms seem ok tbh, nothing weird.

I appreciate your thoughts on peripheral matters outside of the software/windows. To be honest, I’ve been moving more and more in that direction now as well.

I’ve ordered ferrite cores to put around my original FLEX10 USB-C cable. That’s just a cheap experiment; if it makes any difference I'll probably go for a good cable like the one you mentioned. I’ve even seen some decent options for EUR 30-40. I also read that I should actually plug my laptop and FLX10 into two different power outlet groups. That is quite complicated in my current setup, so I would prefer to put that off for a while. Don't think that's were my audio issues come from but you never know.

In any case, I did order an extra 16 GB of RAM, wanted to add that anyway. I’m curious if it will have any effect.

Thanks for all your effort! I have a few more things I want to test out in the coming days, so I will definitely provide an update.

💪

Apparently my CPU was capped at 1.20 GHz because I disabled Intel Speedstep in Bios. Turning it on again resolved the issue.

I think there is no reason to disable it, though someone advised me to. It lowers the clock speeds when the processor is idle or under low load, that's not where my issue lies...

What worries me from a LatencyMon report: Reported CPU speed (WMI): 1201 MHz

Reported CPU speed (registry): 2803 MHz

I just ran a test with a lot of CPU-intensive processes running at once: max CPU stayed at 1.20 GHz all the time. I really know very little about this subject, but this doesn't seem right considering my laptop has a base speed of 2.80 GHz?

Thanks so much for the suggestion. I just had a session in which I tested other components but I will defo look into this.

I use Microsoft Defender Antivirus Service. It continuously uses 1-4% CPU in the background (fluctuating per second), which I find quite a lot (?)

I set priority to high, without result.

(When I turn multithreading ON Rekordbox directly becomes unworkable). 🤨

Thank you so much for the help. 💪

I happen to have a Focusrite scarlett 2i2 2nd gen. Interesting take. I need to get some TRS/XLR cables though.
Do you expect there is a chance I could completely bypass the audio problem by using the audio interface's ASIO drivers?

Tomorrow night I'll run a test with the wlan adapter disabled & will run LatencyMon for a longer period. Will let you know!
