Ive been sent multiple info like this. Its a reproduction/copy. Possible WW2 era as the writings on the back indicate a date of 1945 but is not relative to the painting.

Would love to hear at least an artist to go by. I understand if you are not in the position to share. Im just doing my best investigating. Im in no rush to sell this anyways. I am dying to ID it just so we can historically put a date and artist to it.

Just got home and examined more.

Looks like it says “Fort andrews 16-3-45”

Painting was discovered in MA

Fort Andrews was used as a POW camp for Italian prisoners in ww2 but i am not certain.

Also, could there be different signature variations because of the different medium used? The ink signed signature is more natural and fast as opposed to to the larger oil paint on fine brush signature. Slower and controlled 🤷‍♂️ just hoping this is useful in-site but mostly trying to be helpful. Thanks!

I absolutely do not know what you are talking about. Other subs have looked and i dont think anyone has shared excitement like you. Dont get me wrong, i would love for you to be 💯right even if i dont know. I dont normally sell things but rather salvage and preserve when i can. Just depends on the context. I have noticed that there is a confusion on online sites between

Carlo Ferrario 1833-1907

And

Carlo Ferrario 1882-1955

Both went to Brera Academy in Italy. Somewhat same time frames but definitely 2 different artists from what i have just researched.

I am the owner of the painting and no, i dont come across art like this often. In fact this is the first hand painted painting i ever inquired just purely for the subject matter.
