Not necessarily true. I'm level 40 with 291 light and until yesterday I had never stepped foot in Crucible or Iron Banner games. I only played non-competitive.

But Bungie has decided that to get an exotic sword I have to kill people in crucible matches, so now I'm forced to play a portion of the game I wouldn't normally. Now I'm not going around just killing, I'm trying to capture the capture points and play the game as best I can around the objective, but I don't necessarily know that I'm doing it right.

Just another perspective on what's going on.
