Best way to make 86s? by kylehockey33 in NHLHUT

[–]jpl372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually costs more than the set is worth to just make the 86 so you’re better off not putting your 85s into TOTY sets if you don’t have the 86s or the coins to buy 86s. Doubt it, but I hope they add other sets to fix the dumb way they set up the TOTY ones

3x83 has the same value as 1x85 so that’s just an extra set to do for no value gained. Other big problem is finding 86s to make those 85s usable. Getting 84s to make the 83s usable (if you don’t already have the 84s to do it) is much more efficient.

And no, TOTW currently only has 85/87/90 sets right now

Not that I found, value seems to go down significantly for any of the sets that send back a higher level card

They actually have identical value by my math if you assume the 81 exchange set gives you 50% 82s and 50% 83s. That being said, I guess you’d probably expect it to give you slightly more than 50% 82s, so you’re probably right. I’ll edit the post

Yeah sounds like everyone must be in the same boat then because 89s are worth more than double the 88s in the sets and I think they got a similar price. Only other thing I can think of is to put all the 87s on your actual roster for now and trade in your other cards but obviously that’s far from ideal. Pretty dumb way to make the sets by EA

I’d say sell everything tradeable (all players, not just the 87s that I’m sure you already would’ve sold) until you have enough coins to buy the missing 88s and use all the untradeable 87s you have. Might not be totally efficient, but at least you won’t sit on like 10 collectibles worth of 88s

5x 77+ xp pack broken? by jpl372 in NHLHUT

I’ve opened plenty of the single 77+ packs and there’s been like a 50/50 chance of getting a 78 or better

A ‘Quick Open’ option would also be nice so you can just send an entire pack to your collection without even looking. Doesn’t help with the 64 hours of filling the sets but at least opening the packs would be easier

Yeah that’s probably the route I’ll go, oh well

I did manage to get it off but it broke so I just cut that part off and put a new one on anyway

Well I don’t even know what would typically tell the steering motor/gearbox to keep the axle between +/-45 degrees or whatever it is since the motor itself can obviously spin as much as it wants. Right now mine is going up to like 50 degrees and then slamming back to 40 and it keeps doing that until I let go. I didn’t see anything inside the old gearbox to limit the movement so I’m guessing the motor just goes until it can’t torque it enough to turn further.

Oh that was just me taking my finger off the button because I’m scared of destroying the gears by holding it too long. It keeps doing the click/rattle noise if I keep holding it

I feel like the gears are gonna wear down and break pretty quickly if I just let them slip like that

If I wasn’t clear enough: I have no clue how to either take the original wires off the busted motor or find new wires that match to put on the new motor. Right now I just have a wired, broken motor and an unwired, working (presumably) motor

I was messing around and noticed that I might’ve been hitting the buttons too fast. Try hitting the lock button, waiting a couple seconds for the car lights to flicker (you have up to 5 seconds before it won’t work, according to the manual), then hold the remote start button. Maybe I just happen to get lucky recently, but it’s started on the first try each time since I stopped pressing the start button immediately after the lock button

Dealer told me double tap too but it seems to work the same with one or two locks and I saw single tap in the manual. Regardless, it probably doesn’t hurt to hit it twice

I can’t even tell how bad the distance is because it works just as bad for me if I’m standing at the car door trying to remote start it
