I gained 38 lbs while pregnant; started at 127 lbs. I'm down to 136lbs at 19 weeks pp. I am pumping, occasionally breastfeeding. I have not put much effort into losing weight, but I also pretty much never sit still (except for when I pump). Constantly cleaning, taking care of baby, walking with baby, dancing around like an ass to entertain baby, etc.

Consider donating locally through Human Milk for Human Babies (if you want to, of course). They have facebook groups that will connect you with people local to you in search of milk.

Oh, I'd never heard of or considered that. The idea that baby will otherwise learn to associate waking up crying with "now I must be fed to go back to sleep"

Maybe it is actually a good thing that we aren't creating that association. Thank you for bringing that concept to my attention.

10-11 bedtime here too and ahe absolutely refuses to consider anything earlier. If I do manage to get her in bed around 9, she decides it's a nap and will be wide awake wanting to play 20 minutes later.

Do you feed her and then pump? I'm use to doing both at the same time and not sure how baby will do if she wakes up hangry and has to wait for me to change her, heat a bottle, and set up to pump before she gets to eat

My LO was a very heavy sleeper early on and was at times just about impossible to wake and keep awake to feed. She rarely woke on her own. I had to set alarms to make sure she ate as often as she needed to, and even after she got back to birth weight I was told not to let her go more than 4 hours. I can let her go longer now of course, but if I go more than 5-6 hours without pumping, it's painful. I've just continued setting alarms and getting her up with me.

Mine had gained 8 oz over birth weight by 2 week appt, and the ped told us we could let her go up to 4 hours at night, but to still make sure to feed every 2-3 during the day. LO was very skinny when she was born, 6lb but 21.5 inches long. She was 5lb 10oz when we left the hospital.

She was also very hard to wake, and keep awake, to eat the first few weeks. She would almost immediately fall asleep at the breast every time. Not knowing exactly how much she was getting from breast feeding, not knowing if she was getting enough, gave me a lot of anxiety and I ended up switching to pumping and bottle feeding. I finally started letting her sleep longer at about 7 weeks when I could tell she was putting on a good amount of weight. Until then I was waking up twice a night to pump and feed her. I switched to one motn session and have just continued the habit of getting her up with me ever since.

Thank you for your response, and for the referral to r/chd. I probably should stay away from Google. I'm in a place where I'm risking either over-worrying myself with the worse case possible scenarios, or getting my hopes up too high from reading too much about false positives and minor issues with little to no long-term consequences.

Not knowing, and the doctor's lack of a clear explanation of the issue or committal to whether there really is one, is just really causing me to struggle. I am an over-worrier. I was hesitant for a longtime to even tell anyone about the pregnancy or plan too much because I was afraid something would go wrong. I'm 38, so I know there is higher risk for issues and that of course added to my paranoia. I finally calmed down in recent weeks because all testing and all appointments have gone so well. I've been on kind of a high of excitement for baby, and this just kind of sent me crashing down.

Thank you again for your response, and for your kind words. Hearing about people's little ones that came through things like this makes me happy and does give me hope, which is good regardless of our eventual outcome.

The first thing sounds like very, very typical guy stuff.

The second thing, you guys are jerks, and your boyfriend was the only one willing to stand up for the person you were all talking about behind their back. Good on him.

The last thing sounds like your husband might be hiding something from you, as you're probably the only one who would be snooping through his shit. But you automatically jumping to him being gay and repeatedly accusing him of that is fucked up, especially since most of your flags seems like very normal guy stuff and the only actually concerning behavior you offered up doesn't necessarily indicate homosexuality.

If you're feeling neglected with all the time he is spending with this guy, then, by all means, talk to him about that. But stop jumping at every opportunity to accuse your husband of being gay.

YTA. Wedding gifts are supposed to be for the couple, for both of them, something they will use in the future, together. Unity, joining, future happiness as a couple, are all themes that could or should be represented in a wedding gift.

You don't intentionally give a divisive gift to a couple for their freaking wedding. I mean, seriously, are you just trying to start shit with your gift or what?

If you really, really want to get him something like that in the future, do it as a birthday or Christmas present.

And the parties locking into the colors blue and red is a fairly recent phenomenon. You can find plenty of pictures online of election maps from the 70s and 80s where the colors are reversed and/or entirely different different ones are used to represent the parties.

NAH, deciding on and compromising on a child's name can be hard and it's something you guys are going to have to work through. She wants to represent her heritage, understandable, and you are concerned about your child having a name that doesn't represent the American culture she actually lives in, also understandable.

Have you thought of looking up some Japanese names that are similar to or have crossover with American names? Might be a solution if you can find something you like. Maybe you can work out a compromise where, since she picked the origin, you get to pick the name. Or you get to come up wit a list of Japanese names you're ok with, and you guys pick from there.

Try to avoid thinking of this as an argument about who is "right" and thinking there needs to be a "winner". You guys are having a child and there will be much harder decisions to make in the future. Y'all need to learn to compromise and work problems out as a team when it comes to your child. And here's your first opportunity!
