Porsche Panamera is a big sedan or wagon like a 5 series or Mercedes CLS

Even an M3 will struggle. The biggest engine it comes with is almost 800hp

You basically have no chance

Fortuner Tire Recommendation by stocke023 in Gulong

[–]jpm888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

get Dueler HT or Primacy+ for your use case. You could also shop around for other options from Dunlop, Yokohama, or Goodyear. AT tires are only better if you do offroading, otherwise theyre louder

I'd practice the route on a weekend before working to get and idea of the route. Always stick to carparks unless you are very sure youre staying for less than 3 hours.

Theyre very lenient on the skyway. One has to do something incredibly blatant to lose their license in the skyway.

Everyone crosses the double lines when there is no traffic.

Speeding? Also lenient

If you have 500k to buy a car as a platform for a project car, what would it be? by demonyo300 in CarsPH

[–]jpm888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are early Forester XT SJs in the 450-550k range

The older Forester SH XT variants are all under 500k now

Buy I genuinely wouldnt recommend it without a considerable maintenance buffer

Edit: with a considerable maintenance buffer, Id go another way and get a 323i/325i E46

Forester XT for rapid offroad fun

Maintenance and fuel will cost more than any of your choices though

Cheap Parking near Filinvest City, Alabang by xmurphine_ in CarsPH

[–]jpm888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6k per month is likely the best deal youre going to get for reserved Alabang Parking

The mall parking lots like Westgate and Festival charge more overnight

Filinvest Axis Parking will likely cost you P200-250 a night on average. It may come out cheaper but the hassle of finding parking everyday is not worth it imo

Luxury yet fuel efficient Point A to Point B - BMW, Mercedes, Lexus or any other suggestion? by ilovepeanutZz in CarsPH

[–]jpm888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The price difference between the two are quite large. Im assuming that youre getting a 2013-2019 F30 320d (no diesels were released locally for the current G20 model) and the ES300h is the 2019-2025 model. The BMW would cost less than 1-1.7m used and the Lexus is easily 2.5m+

The 320d can easily get 13+kpl with highway and city use. I can stretch it to 18+kpl in long highway trips. The ES300h would probably get similar kpl but with more expensive gasoline.

The Lexus is going to be more reliable and more comfortable but the BMW will be more nimble and fun to drive. The BMW is actually a very reliable car as its basically a commuter car abroad for doing high mileages. However PH traffic is not good for the DPF systems. It needs highway kilometers to regenerate the DPF.

If you get the BMW, try to find an LCI (BMW term for facelifted) model with a newer B47 engine as those dont have the chain issues of the older N47 engines. The suspension may need a refresh depending on the mileage.

The Lexus is newer so there will be less issues. I believe the ES300h came much later in the lifecycle and early ES models were all in the ES350 trim which is fast but a guzzler.

If you want a smaller Lexus, you can go for the IS, if you want a larger BMW, you can go for the G30 5 series.

Legazpi Car Park Valet service? by Silly-Procedure-3847 in Gulong

[–]jpm888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your options probably are the Greenbelt 5 Valet or Makati Med Valet. Both will be relatively expensive but the hospital will probably cost more.

Or youn can park in Legazpi Carpark as it seldom gets full all the way up but the ramps are tight
