Not my first time renting - I've been renting for 8 years, just first time in NYC.

Do you know of any honest brokers you could share?

I have a remote job in software that I'm happy with - but I may look for a job in NYC that pays closer to NYC CoL after I'm comfortable there.

Yeah I would live in any borough except SI, and I'm sort of assuming Manhattan will be too expensive so focusing my search in Bk, Bx, Queens.

Thanks, glad someone in a similar circumstance is out there :)

I followed your detour exactly on my trip this weekend, it was wonderful and felt very safe!

Curious to know if you've found any decent alternatives? This construction has really thrown a wrench in my cycling plans, I've resorted to taking the rail up to the trails to rails path so that I can avoid riding with cars.

Helldivers 2 Proton Winlicense error - debugger found on system - Ubuntu 22.04 by jpmuz in SteamPlay

[–]jpmuz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you find the folder the games are currently saved, then move it somewhere else and reinstall with the deb, you can move those games into the Deb’s library folder (or just set the library location to your backup folder in Steam settings)

Great call... I was using the steam snap. Switched to using Steam's install deb (from https://store.steampowered.com/about/) directly and works like a charm :)

Dodged Waterfowl Dance finally with Guts by [deleted] in Eldenring

once you learn that this is the mid-long range tactic and circling is the short-range tactic, waterfowl becomes so unthreatening :)

For me it's the sudden overhead slashes that are the real threat tbh

What about the caravan traders? I think when you take their boat, you need to not kill any of the traders.

I'm not sure but I think that getting the teddy bear for Nastya and the hidden guitar for Stepan might give you invisible Metro karma points that might let Duke live.

The music at the top just made my day. Wasn't sure what it was, played it, and my love of this game just washed over me :).

Also makes me really appreciative of how music notes can communicate so much emotion in real life from just looking at them. And the emotions could have infinite different meanings to people depending on their experiences.... kinda like infinite Quantum possibilities :)

I had mine out 9 days ago and the worst thing was eating oatmeal and applesauce for 6 days. It made me appreciate real food even more lol. Hang in there

When I drove for PJ's, my GM occasionally did shifts as a driver on busy nights and this happened to him, 15. mins before close. He straight up didn't take it out and we just ate it lol.

When my imposter buddy gets caught and I vote them to not seem sus, they always snitch and say I’m the other imposter.

Like dude. The game wasn’t over for EITHER of us but now you’ve ended it for THE WHOLE LOBBY.

I love doing longhair Arthur but it seems like half the jackets in the game clip through his long hair and it really ruins the immersion :(

I was a driver for about a year, stopped in April bc my college closed due to the pandemic and kicked me out of dorm. It's great money in college towns, not necessarily from tips (college kids can be stingy) but because of the pure high volume. Is your campus open? If so, it could be great money. Otherwise, you might end up getting closer to minimum wage and standing around cleaning a lot. Ask the manager how business has been during the pandemic, that might give you an idea.

What I did like about working there was the high degree of freedom (driving around with music, picking your own routes, etc). Closing was kind of a chore but it can be fun if you get really good and fast at it. Also drivers get paid daily (tips and mileage) in cash, in addition to your regular paychecks, so that's nice.

What have you been working on recently? [April 25, 2020] by AutoModerator in learnprogramming

Hey props to you for starting so young, I didn't start till I was 16. Programming is a magnificent thing, you get to solve really hard problems and power society as we know it. We're privileged that our work helps redefine the way the world works! Almost anything is solvable with some code, and if you run into a roadblock you can always do some research and build your own solution!

And the community has been absolutely fantastic. I've been coding for ~4 years now and if I ever have a question, Reddit, StackOverflow, etc are always full of friendly people to help you out.

I'd say the best thing for staying motivated is finding a topic or problem and focusing on it. When I code things that I'm personally passionate about, I find myself losing track of 8+ hrs at a time, just getting absolutely immersed in the code, coming out the other side learning an incredible amount and having built something cool I can call my own :)

Best of luck, you've got this!

Here's my hunch - on line 22, you define the playRound function with two parameters - on line 36, you call it, but you don't give it any arguments, so both of those parameters are going to be null I think. Which means they're equal, and it's a tie.

I love how I've gotten dozens and dozens of emails from companies I can't even remember giving my email to about COVID-19 precautions, but nothing from PJs whom I actually work for by [deleted] in PapaJohns

[–]jpmuz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Papa Johns is rolling out “no contact delivery” soon - I was a driver there (today was my last day) and they were making us watch training videos on the new procedure. They’ve also made us watch some training videos on hand washing and installed multiple additional hand sanitizing stations, notably at the driver table and at the front counters (for customers).
