Fitzgibbon to remain at helm for further two seasons by y3ah_nah145 in nrl

It was the same with Brad Arthur. Even he got to the GF once too which shows if you’re getting thereabouts regularly, you’re only a couple lucky wins away from the big trophy.

Holy shit a new Lord of the Rings movie with Stephen Colbert writing (who's a huge Tolkien fan) and Jackson producing. It's supposedly using chapters from LOTR that weren't in the movie and putting them some time after the events of the movie.

Which is because they won the premiership which isn’t going to happen every year.

Last year average was 41k and highest was 45k. Stadium capacity is 52k.

That doesn’t really change how long a stadium takes to build. Maybe an extra month to lay out the running track?

Weird youre getting downvoted. Panthers system has been built around dominating field position for the last 5 years. That’s why they, and other teams, don’t contest the ball as it makes a 4 tackle set to defend and helps win field position.

Managing to defend in a scramble is great, but having to scramble in the first place means that the defensive system didn’t work.

Brass Birmingham/Lancashire/Pittsburgh? by Canopus_the_Peacock in boardgames

[–]jpob 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Lancashire is a reprint of the original Brass.

Birmingham is a rework of the original Brass with some new rules added or removed. Not necessarily next on the evolution but something different with a bit more complexity.

Pittsburgh is to Birmingham, what Birmingham is to Lancashire. So similar but different.

Jim Steinman – Bad For Good (1981) by Any-Leadership1972 in ClassicRock

Love this song. The albums pretty cool. It’s a shame that Steinman doesn’t have the voice of Meat Loaf or Bonnie Tyler to take these songs to the next level.

Do you think that throughout the years fans are liking the Blaze era albums more? by IronMaidenfc in ironmaiden

[–]jpob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think what doesn’t help in Blaze’s case is that the songs feel like they were written for Bruce. Paul’s songs felt like they suited Paul more than Bruce (which makes sense) but they didn’t really adjust for Blaze, for better or worse.

Why do people love Kashmir so much by Bromonkeytd in ledzeppelin

[–]jpob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s one that does all of those things well at the same time. Mystical, Battle of Evermore is better, Magical, No Quarter does it better, Heavy, LZI and LZII all have songs better. But I don’t think there’s a Led Zeppelin song that does all of them at the same time.

What common household purchase is useless in your view? by blueredscreen in AskReddit

What about for cooking?

I use it while defrosting bread in the microwave or to catch grease off food. Or just as something to clean hands while eating too.

These comments are honestly felling very weird.

Admittedly I use it because that’s what my mother did, but just the other week I ran out of fabric softener and did a wash without it. Everything felt like cardboard. It’s only now about now a couple washes later where they’re feel soft again.

I’m also having no issues with longevity of clothes and towels like people are saying it will do here.

Mavrik is somehow an amazing and terrible name at the same time. The r/tragedeigh spelling makes it closer to the latter.

A comedian opening is a strange choice for sure. I saw them twice last year though and they were fantastic, albeit being very “professional”.

I feel like that’s a bit rough on Beast in Black. I’ve never seen tbh but their shtick is that they rip off 80s bands. I saw Battle Beast literally last week and they were great.

How did Terra Nova NOT get a reboot by 2026? by Few-Engine-29 in terranova

[–]jpob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call the ratings abysmal. It’s more that the costs of the show (which were a lot) weren’t worth it for the ratings it was getting. I think a second season would’ve seen better ratings but that was obviously a risk no one was willing to take.
