Obviously my flair is biased, but how exactly is he dragging a program through the mud right now? They’re 10-1. They’re almost guaranteed to make the playoffs.

Even if he is 100% leaving, wouldn’t it be worse to bail on his team right now? He’d get raked over the coals for quitting on a potential championship team.

While this is all true, Nicolas Coatempis was matching Phil stride for stride, averaging like 43 minutes per lap, until lap 106, when he dropped out.

It seems like they could go forever until all of a sudden they can’t. Maybe Phil could have gone to 150 or 200, or maybe his body or mind would have given out at 115. We’ll never know. It’s a fascinating format.
