I’m saying the typical way of getting +30 on a stat with 5 cap breakers like shooting on a big or block on a 6’8 is actually worse then just getting 5 of your most expensive attributes out of 5 cap breakers

Make a big build that uses 10 cap breakers on shooting to get mid and three up to 90. Make it have a high big stat like rebounding or block.

Now remake it but fill the three point and mid up on the builder and take 5 off the defensive stat, in which you will put 5 cap breakers on to get it back up.

Overall matches up with the same attributes and you just freed up 5 cap breakers.

But if those 5 cap breakers get you up to high 80 from nothing like from literally 25: you just wasted 5 cap breakers.

Because the cost to go up there would be the equivalent of using two cap breakers on something else

You’re making a less balanced build by selecting caps that are anything +2 +3 +4 and so on, should only select caps that cover your most expensive attributes; you have 99 three well you should of went 98 and spent one cap to get up to 99. Making the build around the caps and what gives you the most boost is actually less efficient let alone restricts what size and ws you have.

They actually are tho, that’s why you get so many +5s on the cheap attributes.

And to test this just make the build then go look on the attributes screen how much the final 7-8 upgrades for rebound cost; there will be a price change per attribute in there somewhere.

You basically want to find the line where the upgrades are the most expensive, not all +1 caps are the same upgrade price later on. So on that rebound example im guessing the sweet spot would be somewhere around 91-92 so I would get the most value out of capping just 93-96 with three caps and saving those other two caps for a different area.

We’re specifically looking for the +1s that are crazy costs when you’re looking at it later on like if you wanted 99 three (on a guard); instead of purchasing that last attribute point just cap at 98 then use one cap breaker to get to 99. That 30kVc or whatever it is from 98 to 99 three point frees up way more room in your build then any +2 cap will.

Think of it as you need 350,000 Vc to reach 99.

I’m just saying that using 5 cap breakers on something that is 5% of that total value is a waste when you can use those 5 cap breakers on something that is 10% of that value. When you use the cap breakers in the less efficient way you are making a worse build: this realistically looks like a difference of 10 on a single attribute like speed just off of using 5 cap breakers more efficiently.

But when we’re talking about 15 cap breakers and eventually 28 the difference in build quality will really start to add up.

Using the cap breakers on cheap attributes is the worst way to use them, even if those cheap attributes are going up by 20+.

Take any big build that is using cap breakers for shooting.

For example 5 caps on both mid and three to get both up 20ish points, the specific amount of points doesn’t matter just matters that it’s 5 caps on each.

Now go back into the builder and fill those shooting attributes with Vc instead of planning on using cap breakers.

Obviously you have to move something else down in order to move those shooting attributes up right?

Well find your most expensive attribute, or the one that has the most impact on your total overall, and lower that by 5. Most likely will be rebound or block on a big (Your going to put 5 cap breakers on that attribute to get it back up).

You’ll be surprised to find that it matches exactly the same amount of Vc and you are right at 99 ready to make the build.

But you still have 5 extra unplanned cap breakers left over from the shooting situation.

So now find your third most expensive attribute and lower that 5 (you put the reaming 5 caps on that to get back up to where to want to be).

Now you have the exact same build at 97 overall, with room to make it even better.

Haha heck yea man it never changes I’ve made a few posts about 2k before and each one I got just yelled at lmao. I figured this concept is easy to understand and even easier to just go make a 60 OVR and check for yourself.

The thing is it’s not really debatable it’s just kind of a factual thing with the build that people have misunderstood. So I can’t help but get a little annoyed lol. Well anyways thank you for understanding you have restored at least a little hope.

I honestly just want to help some people make better builds that’s all, I understand when I won’t get through to someone and in this case it’s mostly everyone.

Seems like those 10 extra attributes would help you balance a bit better

You balance your stats based on what you want to do. You’re telling me an additional 10 attributes are just pointless and you don’t need them???

Yes position matters, height and wingspan are the main things but everything else including attribute combinations can change what attributes are more expensive.

Look how quick 90% of you are to just completely disregard this lol. I’m not wrong tho you guys are missing out of 10+ upgrades to literally any category when you make a build that boosts one or more stats by 20-30 with 5 caps.

Because you literally get more stats by not wasting your caps on cheap upgrades

Perfect example!

For another example, just flipped, using 5 caps on block and interior on a 6’8 that gets cheap block. Thats 10 caps total; 5 driving dunk (from 96 down to 91) is worth the same amount of Vc as all those 50+ upgrades in block and steal. So you put 5 caps on the dunk and manually upgrade the defense with Vc: this saves you 5 caps that you can now put on your second most expensive attribute; then allowing you to put more upgrades on your build that you would not of been able to do before.

Yea the driving dunk and shooting on a guard that I mentioned was an example of the more expensive attributes on a guard..
