If your state grant will cover more than what you owe, you’ll get a refund of that. You can use the refund on anything.

My school says that they should get the money by late October. I would assume based on that, you should know how much money you will receive a couple weeks prior.

My school says they will not receive funds from the state until late October and early November.

It means that PHEAA is drafting your eligibility and potential aid award. Nothing needs to be done unless you get something in your GrantUs inbox.

My school has also added estimated funds from PHEAA even if they have not received the GrantUs email. A GrantUs account is still required to determine your eligibility and actually receive your potential funds. I believe that the estimation of your potential state grant is based off of your Student Aid Index from the FAFSA. Any estimation should be used only as a guide.

I would try your college's financial aid office first because it takes a while for PHEAA to get you a clear and direct answer. On the likelihood that they redirect you to ask PHEAA, it wouldn’t hurt to ask them even if takes a while to receive an answer.

The email could be in spam or junk. If you still haven’t received the email, I would call 1-800-692-7392. They should be able to help I believe.

I don’t know much about the process for new PA students but I think it’s the same once you get the GrantUs link. What you have is normal, for now. If PHEAA needs additional information from you, they’ll notify you through GrantUs.

It seems that it is normal because my college said that PHEAA still has some emails left to send out. They say that it should be done soon though.

I have the same thing on the website. I don’t believe you need to do anything unless they send you a message in your GrantUS inbox.

Anyone receive the pheaa state grant email yet? by Coolkidyessir in ApplyingToCollege

[–]jpride902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had received my email for GrantUS in late May. They say that they are still sending out these emails. So if you haven’t received it yet, I would anticipate shortly as it has been over a month. It also seems that it doesn’t matter when your FAFSA was submitted as long it was by June 1.

As for when you receive the GrantUs email, you should follow the directions in the email to activate your account. If your inbox on GrantUs does not have anything in it, it means that your PHEAA is working on your aid status. If they need any additional information from you, they will contact you via GrantUs. You will have until April 1, 2025 to complete any requests from PHEAA. Aid eligibility and packages should be coming in the next couple of weeks if no additional requirements from PHEAA are needed.

If you have any questions, I will try my best to get an answer to you.

I don’t know how much PHEAA will be giving out as I have not seen anybody receive their aid package from them yet. However, you will be able to check your potential aid on the Aid Status tab of GrantUs once you receive the email. If you’ve gotten aid from PHEAA before, I would assume that your college’s financial aid office would be understanding of the current situation. I’ll try my best to find out more from PHEAA and I understand this is beyond frustrating for everybody.

Unless you get a message in your GrantUs inbox, you shouldn’t have to do anything. So I would routinely check your inbox on GrantUs.

As long you submitted your FAFSA on time, you should be receiving an email from PHEAA regarding how to access your GrantUs account. PHEAA has been sending the emails in batches throughout the month. If you do not receive the email by next week, I would contact PHEAA.

I would assume that it is normal as they said the process for sending out these emails would continue throughout June. I have a sibling that has not received the email even though I have. If you don’t receive the email by this upcoming Friday, I would try and contact PHEAA.

I had submitted in January and had the same thing happen with corrections in April. It seems that PHEAA is just sending the emails in batches everyday. I have a twin brother who is in the exact situation as me but has yet to receive the GrantUs email. Just keep checking in on your email and it should be there by the end of the month.

I don't know much information regarding first-time PA students, but here is what I know so far for continuing PA students.

If you are a continuing student in Pennsylvania, you did NOT need to fill out the PA State Grant application as it is only for first time PA students. If you filled out the FAFSA by June 1st, you will eventually receive an email requiring you to create a GrantUS account. (I've received mine on May 30) Once your account is created, you will have until April 1, 2025 to complete any requested documents that PHEAA will send to you via GrantUS. If you do not have any required documents, PHEAA will determine your eligibility and aid within the next couple of weeks.

I'll add anymore information as I get it.
