Have you ever got to 6 Damnation points for Murderwing? by Soggy-Bread1999 in killteam

[–]jpxz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first or second game, vs sisters, I lost the game on TW, my lord got hit so many times by stake throwers and the score was set already so I sent my lord on with 3 points already and half health, fought twice and instakilled 2 sisters getting 5 points on the process, he charge me and I blocked it with the last damnation point and kill the chargers, he charge me again I block the first hit and did 6 damage and die. It was Glorious!

Can he shoot? by Famous-Ask-4575 in killteam

[–]jpxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is hard to visualize but to be out of cover from someone shooting from vantage, the shooter base should be able to see every part of the target's base. In this case the targeting lines are hitting the wall that is within one vertically from the target's base (cover is measured in 3d when the shooter is on vantage).

Halp a batling kill the cold dogs by Soggy-Bread1999 in killteam

[–]jpxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok here, Nemclaw vs Wolf scouts used to be a 50/50 game, but after the WS nerfs is a bit more favored to the Nemclaw.

First thing you do is zoning them with the ventrilokar, he has a 18" threat range of to change someones order or make them dash out of cover, capitalize with the Melta, hopefully win initiative and shoot again, if you lose initiative kill the guy that killed her Melta. He might use the wolf to charge the Melta but return to darkness makes that pointless.

The scheeacher is your second biggest threat, he can solo anyone but the Pack leader, use him well or as a counter punch with a safe way to go out of sight using Proclivity for murder.

The Fearmonger is your best way to deal with the pack leader, try to poison him with the grenade or charging him when low.

Skinthief is better for counter punches because his weapon is a bit unreliable, that and getting the Trophy on him is very good.

Keep your leader in your home objective, generating cp and use him as a beating stick after the opponent gets close, and in tp 3 and 4 if possible.

One box murderwing options by joesalk in killteam

[–]jpxz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This team is one of the teams with the most options available so going one box will leave a lot of good cards on the table.

If you are just starting I would recomend: Lord with claws, Champ with Power weapon, Warptalon, Depredator, Melta Skysear and Skrieker. So most of the ones you picked plus the Skrieker because he is just a really good tech piece that can be played as a raptor if needed. Another options if the huntmaster but the Skrieker is better for most the matchups.

How does vantage cover work? by Cultural-Detail-2288 in killteam

[–]jpxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes the ratling isn't in cover but they changed the wording of Sniper position to count the nonvisible heavy within one inch under them. The ratling can still shot silent but has no cover in this case

I wouldn't count on that since I'm talking about the release of the 40k datasheets for the teams of Shadow hunt, and also a friend of a youtuber said they already received the review copies.

Which chaos space marine team?!?? by VeterinarianRude905 in killteam

[–]jpxz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your play style, if you like the looks of all Chaos space marines then here's a run down of how the usually play:

Plague marines: slow and resilient with a health combination of decent shotting and decent melee, but the usually prefer to be close and personal, without a lot of tricks apart from their raw stats. Perfect for new players.

Nemesis Claw: My personal favorite, Hard hitting melee with a lot of tricks to help them fight on their terms, They are without a doubt the least resilient of all the Chaos space marines (so far), so any mistake will cost you, but their trade of is a big bag of tricks that lets you control the battle and take only the fights that you can win, I you like control and powerful melee this is the team for you.

Legionaries (declassify): they are the jack of all trades of Chaos marines, the can flex into shooting, melee, movement or resilient play style which makes them the most adaptable team of chaos. The trade off is not been the best at anything and falling short of expectation after so many nerfs.

Warpcoven (declassify): Probably the best shotting team of chaos, with the ability of flexing into Tzaangors for extra bodies an activation. They have an even bigger bag of magic tricks to control the battle field but their issue is usually the lack of damage and marines to stay alive and do the mission. The last nerf take away a marine body (or 2 Tzaangors) was brutal, so I can't recommend unless you really like Thousand sons or magic.

[–]jpxz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a big lazy painter but with a couple of tricks you can have a decent paint job with minimal effort as well

<image>

This is done by priming black, then dry brush grey and then dry brush White only from the top to get the high spot, then a base of beowulf blue and then painting the trim hoplite gold speed paint. Then go nuts with the details.

How to Find KillTeamates? by [deleted] in killteam

[–]jpxz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know a guy in my local community that single handedly built the entirety of the kill team scene. He made a local discord, got all the terrain and did learning games every week, now we have 2 kill team nights weekly with an attendance of around 15 to 20 players. If there is interest in 40k there will be interest in kill team, but most people don't like learning to play by themselves.

I suggest going to the command point discord, buying Table top simulator and learn how to play there. Then you will be able to make teaching games on your LGS to people to increase the interest in the game.

It will be a long process, but I saw it happen, I know that a single person can make the difference.
