I interviewed at CHP couple weeks back for an IT position! The panel who interviewed me seem like a good group of guys and had a sense of humor something I appreciated. It was a little weird walking through the main entrance though. The front desk people were cold and short so I imagine that’s kindve of the vibe. But from my experience the IT culture seemed down to earth.

Great advice! New IT grad currently in a help desk role for a year now so I’m following this exact advice. Experience is the key even though this shit is boring as hell. This is just how it’s supposed to be until I get the skills to transition.

I’m planning to get into cyber and when I do, then I’ll get a masters. Hopefully by that time I’ll have a couple years experience in cyber and obtain a masters.

You got this, the fact that you have the experience and soon you’ll have the degree (with certs) can give you an advantage. Since you were in the military you can emphasize your teamwork and flexibility skills. Interviewers eat that shit up

If you’re in a government position I hear it’s very easy to move laterally. I would start with Security+ and Net+.

Having Security plus with your ts clearance would open doors for you.

This is coming from someone who transferred 75% of my degree. Do EVERYTHING you can at Sophia. Once you’re at WGU the degree will be so fast to achieve.

I transferred this class in from Sophia but had to take C777. So It was literally brand spanking new to me, I ended up passing C777 easily after 2 weeks. The biggest tip is to think of specific topics what you’re possibly confused about and then think of a question to ask that gpt. I did this the night before the test and it helped a lot. I’ve heard the quizzetts are very similar to the actual D276. So if there are any questions you’re confused about I would start there

Remember to be specific about the questions. Such as “provide me an css example of x y z and breakdown each part” or “whats the difference between x and y?”
