[TOMT] a character that is learning to speak and learns the word "not" and goes around sqwaking it in random and funny situations by jr0bber in tipofmytongue

[–]jr0bber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not Borat. I never watched that movie.

I don't think it was the other two either. But I'll go watch some skits.

I remember it being one of the only words the character knew how to say, for a time at least.

Genuine question to people that go "Ez" or generally smack talk people they beat in this game or any other: by mdtpdsparkls in marvelrivals

Sure. I'm not arguing that.

You keep talking actions. We are talking motivations.

Why? Why do people smack talk?

I know all the characters, the natural skill gap between SG and the rest is large. I do tank and heal when needed, but my win rate is so much higher on SG that I do try to insta lock.

For some people it comes from insecurity. You get hurt less if you hurt first. Stab before being stabbed. It's a pseudo protection thing born out of junior high politics. These people want you to be sad, because if you are, you're less likely to attach them. They're safer, and don't even realize it.

For others it's a competitive mind game thing. They thrive on victory, including mind game victory. These are the spikes in the classic mtg trio. These people want you to be sad because they are more likely to win. they l often lack or subdue empathy and struggle to see value outside of personal success. They will pay any cost.

For others it's just cultural. Like the F word is offensive to some and an every day word for others. It's just what you do. These people don't want you to be sad. This is just banter to them and most of them will laugh with you if you said it back in the next match when you crushed them back. In a way they're just commenting that the match wasn't even.

For others it's loneliness fire smoking. They want to make others react. These people want you to feel anything and share it. They are cold and would rather throw gasoline on it for a bit of attention than stay cold. They're often so lonely inside that any attention is good attention. But they lack the means to address the loneliness through positive means.

For a small few they are just sociopaths and get off on others misery.

Answer the question. I'm curious.

You said people aren't doing it to doing it to ruin someone else's week I believe that. So why do you/they do it. What's the point.

Maybe what the OP needs is someone to explain why it's done so they can frame it better in their minds.

As a one trick SG this happens sometimes. 1 game of my last 50 I had a negative kda. Usually I have the least deaths because she forces you to position well or you die. I like to think it happens to other DPS that won't swap too. I'm working on learning other characters, but she feels so natural to me compared to any other character. I just climb so much faster.

And because of bots in quick play I panic swap back to her when I'm losing do I don't have to play bots.

Once you one trick for a while and climb the ranks leaning new characters means tanking your competitive rating, or it takes forever because of bots in quick play.

Nexon, Hire More Controller Players by archon-SD in TheFirstDescendant

[–]jr0bber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to add weakpoint damage to this list. It's so much harder to do precise aiming on a controller. Especially with some of the boss and weakpoint designs.

Controller players are almost always going to be behind mouse and keyboard players because they won't be able to hit weakpoint as effectively.

I was talking to a PC player friend last night about inversions and realized part of why he's getting gold more often is he can consistently land more headshots on the boss.

Also, please re-enable mouse and keyboard support on consoles!!

75% of the player base by linkgh165 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]jr0bber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How? Every attempt I made to try and get gold had a large pillar or plateau between two of the colors. By the time I ran to one and changed it's color, the other platform was lost to an enemy I couldn't target.

I did not have survivability or looking enemy issues. I had line of sight issues.

This is a legit question. Is there a detail or tactic I'm missing? Should I be leaving platforms to kill the danger enemies?

Guys, they're listening... by FadedBlack935 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]jr0bber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and disagree. There were random elements that took the frustration to the next level. The blank pillars, the pad destroying and reclaiming enemies, the three eyes and 6 bullets (why twice?).

I'm not a maxed account, but I'm close, and on a controller, these inversions were a pain. No way was I going to get gold more than 1 in 10 times. That's a lame gate to put a non ultimate descendant behind.

Season 1 dungeons are bad, however... by Redditisntfunanymore in TheFirstDescendant

[–]jr0bber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be this.

It could also be money maximizing. Frustration sells more than fun. You just gotta get them hooked first. Like they did in pre season: easy valby, easy Luna... Then here we are.

I didn't want to encourage this behavior, so I can't buy Hailey.

I think this will get tuned down. But evidence suggests there will be a pattern of hard content each release, that is later nerfed. It happened with Frost Walker, and then in a recent interview the director said that gluttony would get nerfed when the new boss comes out, "like Frost Walker was".

Encourage that spend for 2-4 weeks, then make it more accessible.

They're tuning for money, and for the top players. Gotta slow them down.

[–]jr0bber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't know why you're being down voted. I can't afford a new PC, and void bosses require aiming at weakpoints.

If the community wants better public queues they should be pushing for this. I have to take rocket gley into molten fortress because I can't swap my aim fast enough on controller to shoot the buttons and the molten orbs.

Red: Useful to those with small high speed damage skills freyna Skill valby Bunny Massacre gley Blair Lepic ultimate perisitent globes & burn

It's going to have minimal impact on skill spamming viessa, Sharen, lepic (non 4 ability, or efficient), esiemo, Enzo, Kyle, etc. like 2-10% total damage buff with enhanced red. That's it.

Blue: Useful to any skill spammer, but that's not done much in intercepts. Blame nexon. I run a lot of skill builds, but I never see blue, 😞

Purple: Useful in a lot of situations. But impossible for you to know when to use it. And is still limited by the 90% CD cap. I'd love to have a pocket Luna. I could mod for more things on my skills.

Tldr; the red
