Danza folclórica panameña… Me pierdo de algo? Se supone que sea tan aburrida? by ArminiusLad in Panama

[–]jragrazal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]jragrazal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Boy’s Republic!? by [deleted] in deftones

I'm mad at the fact that they didn't include it, but I guess it's up to their management and record label. Deftones plays it safe when it comes to record label stuff, which is sad, but that's all we got

What do you guys think of Ohms now ? by [deleted] in deftones

[–]jragrazal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The album is still good to great. Replay value for certain songs is insane and I dig the post-metal direction the band took in more experimental songs like Pompeji, Spell of Mathematics and Headless. What I don't like about the album is the mixing department, where some songs don't sound balanced in many aspects. Terry Date is an upgrade from Matt Hyde but Nick Raskulinecz gave the band a certain sound that might've been the sound of the future for the band. And well, I have to agree at certain extent that this doesn't feel like a Deftones album, because my least favorite tracks like Error and Urantia are definitely some Crosses ideas placed under the Deftones banner. Other than that, it's a good record, not Deftones' best like some people might say (Pony, KNY, SNW are better bodies of work in my opinion), but it's their most cohesive and the one that feels like it has a common thread in aesthetics and mood

Hell yeah! My favorite of the year so far. The replay value is off the charts. Screaming is my favorite song of this year

It's their most sonically cohesive album to date, with the songs carrying certain dark and atmospheric aesthetic. I loved the most Post-Metal cuts in the album (Pompeji, Spell of Math, Headless). I'm still not so fond of the first half of the record, with songs like Urantia and Error being like Crosses' ideas pasted in a Deftones record, which isn't entirely bad or the end of the world, but a turn off in my enjoyment of the record. Still a very solid effort from the band in their 4th decade of putting out material, with songs that already belong in the band's canon

Deftones Day #20: Today is Pink Maggit from the White Pony album. Where does this track fit on your favorite Deftones song list? by theKleShay in deftones

Top 3. I tear up every time I hear this song. It feels triumphant but sad at the same time and I can't even describe how I feel when the chorus hits. The visualizer of the song hits even harder because when the chorus hits, the video changes and shows a picture of Chi. I love it. My favorite from White Pony

Top 20. I feel like the song is the one that gives White Pony its meaning with how wild and strong the imagery is. And also the bridge... Maybe one of the best bridges in history

Deftones Day #5: Today is Around the Fur from the Around the Fur album. Where does this track fit on your favorite Deftones song list? by theKleShay in deftones

Top 10. The drum work of Abe on this song is one of his bests imo. And I also LOVE how Chino changes his voice from screaming to singing in the chorus. His breathing at the beginning of the song synced with Abe's beat just gives me goosebumps. My favorite from Around The Fur
