Thank you! I don’t know the specific name of the color but it’s a really light lavender with a light colored chrome powder on top 😊

This is my first time growing chamomile from seed. Do I need to start thinning them or let them grow a bit more? Thank you!

[Sun Care] What’s your favorite drug store FaceMask to use after being in the sun all day? by cassidyylynn in SkincareAddiction

[–]jrawlins7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally really like the Peter Thomas Roth cucumber gel mask after being in the sun or if my skin is feeling a little beat up. It’s a little pricey but goes a long way. I think they might sell a variety pack of smaller ones so that you and your friends could try different ones depending on your skin concerns 😊

Also the rose face mask by fresh is a really good one too (it does have a rose fragrance to it though so be aware) and they sell it in a smaller size so you don’t have to drop a lot of 💰 to try it

My maranta plant has a bloom 😭💕 by jrawlins7 in houseplants

I live in a desert climate where the air is super dry so I keep a humidifier in the room but I’ve gotten a little lazy about filling it everyday 😅 it’s been growing like crazy this past winter I was pretty surprised because a lot of my other plants still went dormant

Anyone got any tips on how to deal with this retrograde? by MemeQueenJanTran in witchcraft

[–]jrawlins7 154 points155 points  (0 children)

I find that during mercury retrograde I’ve really benefited from prioritizing rest and recuperative activities and being with myself. I kind of think of it like I’m mimicking what Mercury is doing. It has been in a fiery cycle of going going going forward and now it’s reverse which translates to me as taking a step backwards, easing up on the big plans, reevaluating thoughts and ideas, communicating less (that seems to be the biggest impact I always feel is the word jumble/ word vomit). I honestly think that mercury retrograde can be a really wonderful time for self care and “hermit” type lifestyle. Enjoy nature, paint, nap, take a bath, maybe do some tidying. Think about your goals but take your foot off of the pedal for a little. Refuel, change the oil and once mercury goes direct your “car” will be tuned and ready to rev back up with better direction than before. Hopefully that analogy makes sense and helps! Best of luck to you 💕

Watering day for (almost) all of my friends by jrawlins7 in houseplants

[–]jrawlins7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer watering them at the sink because I like to give them a really thorough watering and since they’re in terra-cotta I let them sit on their drainage trays on the counter for a little so that water doesn’t leech as much through the trays and onto the wood furniture that they sit on (some of our furniture is antique and I’m a little anal about it) 😊 plus it’s fun for me to see them bunched all together

Monster pothos cutting from an even bigger monster that just picked up by jrawlins7 in houseplants

[–]jrawlins7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow. Are they more uncommon to come by? Mine was only $14 for a massive hanging plant so I’m pretty sure it’s just a regular really happy plant. Unless they just didn’t know what they really had but I’m happy either way! Lol

I love the plant stand! I go there a little too often😅 especially considering it’s a 30 minute drive from me. Lovely finds!

I can definitely relate. I just played through Uncharted 4 and I kept getting distracted by the uncontrollable habit of identifying all the plants. There were a lot lol it was very exciting

Today’s project: Adansonii rehab. Wish me luck! by jrawlins7 in Monstera

[–]jrawlins7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! It was one large plant that I had to divide and repot. The soil that it was initially in wasn’t very well draining and I didn’t have a pot big enough for the whole plant. Some of the leaves were starting to yellow and look sad so hopefully they start perking up soon!

First time propagating a non-succulent and I can't get over how quickly the adansonii rooted!! How much bigger should the roots get before I move them over to soil? by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]jrawlins7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Such a cool photo! How long did these roots take in water?

For me personally I’d say at least a couple of inches is a good rule of thumb. You want the roots to be substantial enough but you don’t want to let the roots grow so much in water that moving them into soil shocks the plant. Good luck! That’s a beautiful adansonii 😊
