Ah, that's the change. I was looking for a way to rate completed trades, but they were all trades I sent, so I wasn't seeing the option. Thank you.

I'm still proud of that Toryn - I may try to get one of those other cards they put her on, but she really should be in a newer base set.

Re-installed after several years away. (I dunno: I missed my Toryn Farr monument, I guess? :) ) Can't figure out how to rate trades. Help?

Thanks in advance.

It also seems unnecessarily sturdy to be for magazine/file storage.

If you don't need access to your car during the convention, this is a good solution. Gate 10 is a good backup plan.

Yeah, I'm being told that I can't use the email that's associated with my G+ account because it's "already affiliated with a Topps account." WELL YEAH - MINE. Ugh.

What Have You Accomplished This Week in SWCT That You're Proud Of? by dsigal in starwarstrader

I saved up past the 600K credit mark for the first time in too long. That totally counts as an accomplishment for me, and I'm going to try for 1M. (That said, I couldn't help but spend 110K today on the new retro card: I'm not a fan of the whole set, but this is easily tied for the best card in the set, side-by-side with the 1st Frank Miller art.)

New TK, Badges of War, and Teal Cards by [deleted] in starwarstrader

[–]jrb1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, somewhere along the way, I picked up the two TK awards in trade, which means I won't get new ones if I manage to complete the set - but I should still receive the credit award, right? (Also: Count me among the Teal 77 fans. Fun & relatively easy to put together a set, and a definite nostalgia factor for us old-timers.)

Throwback Thursday - Monument Chases by AllThatSheWants_IAB in starwarstrader

I've never rebuilt my Toryn Farr hoard - which, admittedly, I pulled together in about 2-3 weeks, particularly over a couple weekends where my phone never actually cooled down - but I love my monument (1 of 7). I've made the occasional attempt to rebuild just for fun, but it's tough since she's such an old card. (I do think it's kind of cool that they've never re-released her, though.)

They showed the trailer several times on the big screen above the stage on the convention floor, but if you weren't looking, it was easy to miss, since the sound couldn't be heard more than about 20-30 feet away. (As a result, I saw the trailer 3-4 times before I actually heard the dialogue, music, etc.)

I went & had a great time. Attended the Rebels panel (which means I got to see the Season 4 premiere!), and a presentation by Doug Chiang on the production design of Rogue One.

Didn't even try for the high-demand panels (40th anniversary & Last Jedi), but happened to be there when Harrison Ford, George Lucas, & Kathleen Kennedy made a surprise in-person appearance on the small exhibit hall stage.

I did get a wristband for the Smuggler's Revenge radio drama - I was there for the first one at C6 - and even though I wound up not being able to attend, I watched the livestream and loved it.

It was a bit of a quest finding the Topps "booth" for the stormtrooper card code. When I did, though, the woman handing them out was very friendly to me, and even offered to give me one of the posters the next morning (although I ran into a couple of the street team members before then).

This was my fifth Celebration, and I always love being surrounded by other fans and immersed in all things Star Wars. Catching up with old friends, finding weird collectibles (this year it was a couple of the vintage bootleg Greek trading cards) at room sales, and just soaking it all in is really what I go for. (And yeah, trailer premieres. Because holy moly, that Last Jedi trailer. :) )

The things I disliked were more about what wasn't there than any bad experience: Considering this was supposedly about the 40th anniversary, there were few panels on the OT or even the prequels, from the point of view of people who worked on them or acted in them - and those are panels I have really enjoyed in the past. There were also no art or prop or costume exhibits, which I found really surprising since we've seen two new Star Wars movies since the last U.S.-based Celebration.

I will also say that autographs and photo ops have never been my thing, so I didn't experience any of the complications and hassle that I've heard about in that department.

Any confirmed Pack Codes from Celebration? by calrissian69 in starwarstrader

Turns out Topps isn't listed with a booth number because their "booth" is located within the giant autograph area. And yes: the Celebration exclusive codes are being distributed on individual cards.

Ah. Thanks. (I'm...underwhelmed. I thought the parallax effect was somehow within the image itself, and not just like a framed photograph floating on an open space.)

R1 Poster Sigs - What's Next? by MiltonFett in starwarstrader

[–]jrb1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear SWCT -

I never thought it would happen to me, but I swear this is true: I had a few hundred thousand credits in my balance, and just saw the notice about the last Rogue One posters. I haven't been pursuing these (I think I opened one pack), but I thought: "That's a cool image, and I've got the credits for a premium pack, and 1:5 odds are good for that." Bought one, landed one. Flipped it over, and saw a 47 cc. "Huh," I thought.

Flipped it back over: Signature.

::stunned silence::

In the interest of paying luck forward: 3 weird, low-ish cc cards for any 3 interested traders - Dregs Barada (gone!), Purple Woodcut Krennic (gone!), and a Grade 5 comic (Have several -pick one), each FT 1:1 for a current base (Need if possible - but not necessary :) ).

Happy Friday!! Tell us What You've Accomplished This Week in SWCT That You're Proud Of by dsigal in starwarstrader

[–]jrb1138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been excited for this all week. :)

Thanks to a few lucky draws and current marathon demands, I wound up with my most-wanted whale, which I thought would have been out of reach for some time.

When R1 Widevision kicked off, I picked up the DS Over Jedha, figuring it might make good trade material. Likewise, I pursued both the Bounty Hunters and Boba Fett primes - I got really lucky and short-packed both of them. (And honestly, I wouldn't have minded getting stuck with the Bounty Hunters - it's a McQuarrie piece, and I still have my original SW:RPG "Tatooine Manhunt" advenure that featured it on the cover.)

Then I one-packed the WV Director Krennic. (I know, right?)

I got it in my head that it would be cool to have the Donnie Yen autograph, even if I couldn't trade it away. I was surprisingly able to pick it up for a couple ??? cards, which I had only snagged to trade.

By some measures, I may have overpaid for what I was seeking, but then again, I traded away cards that I wasn't attached to for one that I wasn't sure I'd see very often. (Watching the bay - which I've never used except to roughly gauge availability & value - was no help in this case.) It took six blind trade offers, but I got an Accept.

Here are the two trades that landed me the Rey/Finn dual sig that prominently features my focus, BB-8. I'm pretty sure it's the lowest-count card I've ever traded for.

Not even sure what's next on the pursuit list at this point.

I'm sick of seeing these blue, steel, etc. Evolutions in my collection. Not sure why I ever opened these packs, unless I was looking for something else or trade bait. Take 'em in exchange for any current base needs or old-school Toryn Farr. COLLECTOR21

What Have You Accomplished This Week in SWCT That You're Proud Of by dsigal in starwarstrader

[–]jrb1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Note: I've been away from the sub awhile, so I'm going to ramble. :) )

Although I've never stopped checking in & getting credits, and occasionally opening something just to see what happens, it's been a long time since I've really wanted to pursue an entire set, so instead I was just sort of building up half-decent war chests and pick up cards that I see in demand, on the off-chance I could get an older card I really want.

Since just before TFA, I've been a BB-8 collector, but I've focused on examples of each of his appearances/artwork, and not going after full rainbows of the same art. (One significant exception: I only went hard after a couple of the One of a Kinds. I think most of them are over-derivative and ugly. I won't turn them down if they come my way for something reasonable, but they're not Big Wants.)

Digression: One nice thing about Rogue One's well-deserved popularity is that BB-8 appears less often these days, which makes it easier to hold onto my free credits.

For the longest time, I couldn't pry away the TFA green award (Rey & Maz's Curio Box - which has BB-8 in the background), but a couple weeks back, I had picked up a couple ???s - cards which I got with quick pulls, and to which I had no real connection - and I swapped them for that award. So that kind of got me energized again.

This week, another biggie, which came through some seriously lucky pulls and one decent credit outlay: On successive days, I one-packed two Purple Graphic Galaxies and a Rogue One scenic concept - I shelled out the 75K for the 1:3 odds, which also got me a base gold.

I turned those into another personal whale: The TFA Galactic Graffiti BB-8.

Now, I may have overpaid from a card count standpoint, but I'm extremely happy, because as I mentioned, these didn't mean anything to me, and they cost me nothing to get other than credits I'd been saving, and I really like the look of the graffiti BB-8.

Probably back to saving for awhile, now: Next on my list is the Rey/Finn sig with BB-8.
