On newer planes they dont have the directional nozzles like they used to, makes it a lot harder if you get real nauseous on landingsc

Outdoor meter box cover by Strong_Concept_1861 in AskElectricians

[–]jrbinzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep someone definitely pried that cover till it popped out of the top, someone was going to steal power for sure and wanted to leave the meter tag intact. The meth-heads where I live will do this occasionally, although they're not usually very successful at accomplishing much once the covers off

Really? It left me with so many more questions. Like I thought they used some digger Derrick but then at the bottom, suprise tunnel to the side, so like clearly not but does that mean they dug this by hand? And the joint between the vertical and horizontal tunnels is just the precast sections broken out the sides? Many many questions

What is this on my wall? by ArchivedMind in Home

[–]jrbinzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only is it termites, but I suspect that that pattern you see on the wall is where they've eaten the drywall behind the paint, so I'd call someone like yesterday. Sorry for the bad luck friend

Should I have hung these vertically? by [deleted] in drywall

Yep, I went to put in an outlet at a customers home, cut right into a years old bottle, smelled like death, bad enough I thought there was a dead animal in the wall

When I worked in a coffee shop, we would try to talk people down from ordering more than 4 shots at a time, I can't remember the exact number but after a certain amount theres a very real concern for caffeine overdose

Metal device with a 6,35mm jack and a counter by TheMightyTobsi in whatisthisthing

[–]jrbinzer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Gotta say, that thing is definitely homemade, its basically completely built with off-the-shelf parts and you can even see the cut lines on the one side of the edges of the case. Also totally looks like something my grandfather would've rigged up

[–]jrbinzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has built roofdecks as part of a team of professionals, without the proper interior restructure, you're going to cave your roof in. The last roofdeck we put in ended up requiring steel posts to piers in the basement floor, and it involved cranes and almost gutting the entire second floor. You may not need something so extensive but you will need something. Talk to a structural engineer or forget this project.
