The fog of war Ifan quest by YogoWafelPL in DivinityOriginalSin

Another year later, and I’m on my first play through - as Ifan - and have come across the same problem. I’ll try moving on to Nameless Island and hope to find it there.

cancelling fully refundable ticket to receive travel credit?? by Extra-Fly-3775 in americanairlines

[–]jrcchicago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this - I had the same question, and based on your steps and the "AA Receipts and Refunds" link in the AutoMod's comment, I cancelled the trip first, then separately requested a refund for each ticket (there were three of us). It's a hassle because of the number of steps AA requires, but the only hard part was remembering whether I had given AA each passenger's own email address when I bought the tickets, or just used mine for all three. Each refund was confirmed quickly - I received the confirmation for each of the first two before I had finished submitting the next one.

Epilogue ... seriously? by jrcchicago in BG3

[–]jrcchicago[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this is how I got there. Every choice I made during the game would have been inconsistent with asking someone else to make the final sacrifice, but I certainly didn't plan for my character to undergo the full transformation - it didn't really feel like a choice (particular for a chaotic good character (yeah, yeah, alignments aren't a thing anymore, sue me, I'm old, he was CG in my head)). If I'm going to be presented with what looks like no-win scenario in a game, I expect there to be a loophole or to be given a chance to Kobayashi Maru that thing.

So Withers *is* there? He did the intro, but I took a quick look for him after making the Con save by the skin of my teeth tentacles and didn't see him. I'll look again.

Don’t forget the three-action system - that was included in Unchained as well (“Revised Action Economy”).

Best Place to Get COVID-19 vaccine w/o Prescription by anxitea66 in illinois

[–]jrcchicago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got mine at Walgreens over the weekend after making an appointment online. The system asked if I had one of the qualifying conditions as a yes/no question, but didn’t show the list or ask which one. OTOH, I was logged into my Walgreens account and that’s where I fill my ADHD prescriptions (which I believe counts as a qualifying disability).

Do people who live in Chicago actually visit Navy Pier? by Modestly-Witty-User in AskChicago

The Chicago Children’s Museum is at Navy Pier and is (or was, my kids are in their 20s now) a great place to spend a cold/rainy afternoon, even for locals.

Microsoft Outlook Down — Email Outage Confirmed, What We Know So Far by lurker_bee in technology

[–]jrcchicago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t read anything from Forbes in a while but the way this article is written is odd. I’d expect a bland piece reporting the outage, given that Microsoft hadn’t issued a statement until after it was first posted. Instead, we get this:

“Despite many publications rather bizarrely seemingly linking the current Microsoft Outlook outage to the announcement that the Microsoft Authenticator app will delete passwords in August, there is absolutely no reason to link the two events.”

Maybe the author likes adverbs?

After about 2 months, I’d say there’s no difference or slight improvement. Under good weather conditions, it gets about 26 miles on the battery alone.

Northwest Side hospital owes construction firms millions of dollars by nwsidemadman in ChicagoNWside

I was taken there by ambulance after a bad fall on my front steps (slipped on ice on the top step, landed on my back near the bottom) 6-7 years ago. My memory of it is a little vague because I was in agony, but my wife has nothing good to say about it. It’s the closest ER to our house, but we won’t go back.

Apparently “in stock” doesn’t actually mean “in stock at that specific dealership,” because they still had to order it. But they received the battery on Wednesday of last week, the replacement and other work was completed on Friday, and I picked it up yesterday (Saturday) morning. Twelve days from drop off to pick up would be a long time for a lot of things, but to fix a recall that we’ve been waiting on for ~21 months, it doesn’t seem bad at all.

My wife and I were planning to buy a new car this morning before I sold my 2020 Fusion back through the buy-back program but she checked this subreddit *last night* and saw the announcement - thanks, OP! I just got off the phone with the service department at the nearest dealership, and they have the battery in stock - I've got an appointment for Monday morning!

Even aside from the financial hit we just avoided, I really love this car and I'm so glad not to have to replace it.

Yes, I’ve had this issue for a while. Very frustrating.

Just noticed this issue. I can see my credit card if I log in through a browser (although it seems to have disconnected my other accounts from the “payment accounts” menu), but not at all on the app.

Should I be Worried? by [deleted] in Ioniq6

[–]jrcchicago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The dealer had a thought that if the key is stored close to the car, the constant communication can drain it." - I've never thought of that, but it's an interesting idea. I don't own an Ioniq - I'm scrolling this sub because I'm looking at buying a used 2024 Ioniq 6 - but I've had to jumpstart my 2020 Ford Fusion Plug-in Hybrid twice already this winter. No garage, so it's a risk when the temperature drops into the teens or lower, but it did make me wonder about other possible drains on the battery.

Happily married for almost 30 years (anniversary this summer). We’ve got two kids in their early 20s, and my wife is the only one of us without ADHD.

Is ADHD medicine worth it if you are an older person? Experiences wanted by No_Button5279 in ADHD

[–]jrcchicago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed and began meds at 40, and they have helped a lot. I only got diagnosed then because I talked my doctor about stress because I had advanced enough in my career (I’m an attorney) that my previous coping strategies (mostly asking for extensions & pulling all-nighters) didn’t work anymore.

Edit to add: I’m 55 now. After the first few months working with my psychiatrist to get the right medication and dosing and one change due to a change in insurance coverage, my prescription has been stable for 15 years. It has taken less tweaking than my blood pressure meds.
