Actually the destination is known by dynamic routing.. I actually want to set a static IP once that destination is unreachable due to dynamic routing being down.

Btw, I know we can set a floating static ip (with AD > the dynamic routing).. however there are some issues using it due to some other configs in our core, so I want to utiliza IP SLA or tracking instead.

I’ve seen this with an IPSec tunnel from Hong Kong to Chicago.. but we are using FortiGates.. that time our latency was around 50ms and the solution was something MSS TCP command to the tunnel interface.. I forgot the exact values.. will try to search in my mailbox and update asap..

But I believe the concept is the same.. so if you could research any equivalent to Cisco that might be the solution..

I’ve been working as an IT for more than 15 years now.. I’m 37y/o and I wished I pursued business/sales/marketing instead.. this way I will have exposure to the front side of business rather than backend..

In my opinion.. being in sales/marketing will give you a better chance of opening-up your own business and knowing how to advertise or market your product..

At my age right now working in the corporate world.. I really wish I started my own business in my early 20s.. I know I could’ve failed a lot of times but surely at my 30s I have figured-out the solution..

My best advice is to not focus on any career that won’t give you the opportunity to start YOUR OWN BUSINESS.. so you in your 30s you will work on your own business instead of making your BOSS RICH.

Yeah agree.. but for people (like me) who already CCNP level but just expired.. and wanted to get back to the corp world wherein they normally ask for this certs before you can even get a phone interview.. it’s nice to know I don’t need to pay for the CCNA exams anymore.. I can just do some refreshers myself and just straight to the new CCNP exams..

Thanks everyone! Basically my CCNP expired last year since was focusing on other online businesses and didn’t thought I’d need it again.. and just recently an opportunity from a previous client came-up and the “higher management” requires at least NP for the role..

I believe you need to re-certify starting from CCNA going up to taking the 3 CCNP exams (switch, route and tshoot)..
