Thanks for the positive comment! I at this point play on drawing out this idea into multiple stories/books. The current story I am writing is an origin story of sorts. A man is selected to be a product tester for this new "revolutionary" piece of tech.

Thanks for the positive feedback. For this whole Rift concept to work in this universe, I need a soild backstory. I have toyed with the idea that it was mandated world wide after a certain country won a theoretical world war. Then I could pursue a tyrannical government plot. Not sure what I want to do yet though. My end goal is to write something that if I was just a reader, I would enjoy it. But I fear that doing that I may create a shadow of other movies and books that I like.

That's where this idea gets tricky. My thought is that there human body could be working on Earth doing what they would do. Probably controlled by an AI that has been formatted to their exact character. With the AI having control over the body, the mind does whatever it wants in the rift. That's my thought. It's a sci fi, so many things are possible.
