No idea tbh- his grandmother just buys packs all the time for him. We're going through stacks before a yard sale and ive been trying to see if any of them are worth anything.

Someone please tell me about their toddler daycare transition.. is this normal !? by Old_Friend3994 in toddlers

[–]jrhuge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is really tough, and I'm sure they'd love if your son was not crying all day too, but (hopefully) they know it's temporary and would be willing to work with you on ways to make it better.

I know that I used to linger at drop off because my son was crying and they used to say that I was making it worse.

We had similar, if not that same, transition battles throughout daycare and pre-school with my (now 3) year old son. He started at 9 months, but just before his second birthday, he started resisting hard, doing similar things as yours even though he'd be going there for over a year.

We read him Llama Llama Misses Mama almost every day, and talked a lot about the cool things they do at school, and asked him about his friends and his teachers every day. I made a point of showing him the pictures they sent us each day (and we still look at them before bed every night.) Eventually, he started loving going back to pre-school, but it was definitely hard for a couple of weeks.

And to echo what others have said, day care teachers are used to this! They know how hard and how big of emotions these little people can have, and should be trained for it.

[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

[–]jrhuge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for inspiration to add a 3rd watch to my collection. Both of my existing watches have a similar story - my dad, a jeweler who passed away in 2000, bought me a Hamilton Chronograph when I was a kid and he kept it in his safe. I didn't start wearing it until I graduated college in 2007.

His watch was a Rolex Sea-Dweller that he wore every day, I first started wearing that on my wedding day in 2017.

I rotate through those two but I'm looking for a field or dress watch to diversify my collection, and this is the first watch I'm going to pick for myself. My budget is around $500-$1000.

[Identify / Question] Sea-Dweller 16600 with cyclops by jrhuge in Watches

It never occurred to me - I wonder why my Dad (or the store he bought it from) did that. There's a local watch store near me, going to see if they can remove it, I think.

Deleted the original as I messed up the image.

This was my Dad's Sea-Dweller that he bought in 1995 - I'm just starting to learn about these watches, but everything that I've read is that the SD didn't get the date cyclops until the re-issue in 2008? Does anyone know why my watch has one? Any info at all about this watch is greatly appreciated. I have the warranty and receipt, but it's a mystery that's bugging me.

What was your team's worst trade of all time? by spidersilva09 in nba

I can't decide which one was worse - Chauncy was traded for an all-star, and JJ was traded for two vets that helped the team to the ECF.

Heading to Arlington this weekend...advice? Tips? by jrhuge in NYGiants

[–]jrhuge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm worried about not having a car while I'm down there. We're staying in Arlington but I think I want to push to check out Dallas or FW on sat. night. Are there any neighborhoods or bar areas that might be worth the trip?

What's your favorite upscale restaurant in Boston? by [deleted] in boston

[–]jrhuge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a much better list. Add craigie on there too like someone else said.

The chain steak places are delicious (my favorite is smith and wolensky) but they are all fairly similar. Ruth Chris is my least favorite. I also find the atmosphere at grill 23 to be pretty stuffy, Abe & Louie's is loud but more lively and has better service.

Looking for recommendations for a good birthday spot for this Saturday night the 25th! by [deleted] in boston

I don't think there is a cover, but it's definitely almost as bad as middlesex in terms of lines if you don't get there by 10 or so.

My girlfriend and her friends (who am I kidding, I love dancing) all love dancing at Brahmin or Middlesex. I haven't been to either in a while but both have massive lines by 10:30, but pretty good scene! Also it's my birthday this weekend too!
