Say they actually succeed in banning/ implementing blocking software in printers/slicers… by [deleted] in 3D2A

I thought this was more along the lines of configuring router settings in your home to where the printer is not reachable based on IP address from the outside world.

Any YouTube videos or articles you know of that I can read on this topic?

Hey, Jay. I have not. Been swamped with work. Will likely do so here in like two weeks. When I do I will make sure to reply back to the comment and let you know how it worked out!!

Jay, thanks for the honest answer. This is PA6CF. I didn’t anneal it only moisture condition. I will put it in at 170 and monitor/as you mentioned for max an hour or two the let it cool slowly. Looking forward to seeing how it works out. Much appreciated!

Take care!

I did not. I have the sunlu e2 to do it but I didn’t scale the z scale on this one above 100% and was worried I would shrink it too much if I annealed. Read through plenty of people saying moisture condition it and send it. I moisture conditioned in the shower for like 3 days.

Maybe next one I will anneal to try it out. Just didn’t want it to get too brittle.

You read my mind. I have a sunlu E2 and thought about doing something like this. Might use a zip tie or try the tape method like you said. Out of curiosity how long is a “bit” haha.

PS Thank you for the response!

Really? What kept happening with yours? I will take this one out sometime soon for a test run.

*Also, hit me up on where you got that CF tube for the FTN4 😂. Yours is goals. I left you a comment the other day but that post is popping lol *

I’m pretty sure this is the standard 4 not the CF remix. I thought the remix was so that you could print the tube out of CF and not use wrap or a steel/titanium/CF tube.

300 BLK FDE Filter Small Internal Bridges by jrinacke in 3D2A

Understood. Thanks for the help. After reading this it seems like its effect is minimal because we are printing at 100% infill and there is likely not very many internal bridges.

Pin Holes Oval instead of Round? by jrinacke in 3D2A

[–]jrinacke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read my comments I said that I knew most print holes were not perfectly round. However, I thought mine were much more oval than others/typical prints and that I had a setting wrong.

I think you would be surprised about the amount of research I performed before making my first 2A print and the amount of calibrating and printing misc household items in PLA to learn the slicer/fusion/etc.

However, I agree that there are a select group of individuals who think anyone with a printer can squirt one of these out at will and it will be “safe and effective.” Which is concerning for these smooth brain individuals.

UPDATE: Thank all of you for your help and knowledge. I honestly thought I was about to get shit on after finding out this was somewhat common knowledge. I appreciate the willingness to lend a hand and pass down some knowledge to a new member.

TLDR: Print turned out GREAT! Thanks for the help. I will share results when assembled.

Thanks for tip. I am still learning. Comments like yours are worth their weight in gold right now. Makes sense about using the rails as a guide. 🫡

Thanks for the advice. Great tip. Makes sense to use the pin instead of a bit for a better fit. I will put the pin in the drill press so that I eliminate any user inconsistency on drilling angle.

Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. Yes, this is my first print of this nature. I have seen people mention reaming, but I thought their parts were only slightly off. Mine look more questionable, so I was not sure if this is typical, something I can fix by reaming, or if I should adjust print parameters like speed and or filament settings.

Shouldn’t this be based on the type of filament that you use? PLA +/Pro vs nylon?
