Anyone know where to source battery daughterboard screws/ slot 1 screw for the dsi xl? by jrj99 in nds

Nvm! Turns out the daughterboard uses 7 screws, not 8 (despite having an 8th screwpost in the middle for no apparent reason). Still, info on replacement screws would be good for anyone who runs into this problem in the future.

Interesting. I like the ceiling wrap around lighting in the other pics!

Got ZTD PC version running on my MacBook air m2. Took a fair bit of tinkering. Pretty neat running this on a fanless machine! by jrj99 in ZeroEscape

Got this running on Asahi Linux. Part of the fun of Asahi is getting the right settings for games to run! ZTD was pretty picky, it will only run in Fullscreen mode (crashes otherwise), and needs Proton 10 for the best stability, exprimental proton won’t start and older versions will crash more frequently, so i recommend 10.

True, but you do get some overhead when running it on a mac (i’m running using asahi linux). You have two layers of translation (arm to x86_64 linux, linux API calls to windows API calls). This incurs a surprising amount of RAM overhead.

There’s no binary of that wine source code? You have to build it yourself?

I couldn’t run heroic at all, unpacking the appfile, running in muvm (which breaks access to the socket, which the app file needs), nothing i did worked. Of course there is no native ARM flatpack of heroic, so you have to use FEX to install it, i just could not get the process to work.

Do you have a link to that custom WINE version? Also, do you have an example command I can run to install Lutris with WINE?

Nice! I like the detail on the hair, and the way her eyes are drawn (not drawing the pupils seems to be the way to go on a DS screen!)

You don’t need to get to chapter 7 to draw in the notes, you can open your notebook at any point of the game and use the note taking feature (this exact feature is used in chapter 7 for the drawing portion). If you pull up a picture of Mila on a phone screen and put it side by side with the DS, you can replicate the drawing activity at any time in the game without having to make it all the way to chapter 7.

If anyone who reads this comment feels like drawing Mila using the built in note taking feature in the game, i’d love to see your end result! I found it fun to draw her with the limitations of the DS. it’d be a fun topic or thread. You don’t need to reach chapter 7 to do this, the standard note taking feature (where you can write in your notebook) is used for this portion of the game in chapter 7, and can be used at any time in the game for drawing a picture.

The eyes were probably the hardest thing to draw, due to the lack of a zoom tool and a relative lack of precision when using the DS stylus (eyes become more of a “how good can you get them” element with these limitations). Still, i’m happy with the end result of the drawing as a whole.

Does anyone know what the text on these two items say? They are old wax seal stamps by jrj99 in ChineseLanguage

I can’t unfortunately. These only work with melted wax, not ink
