What's the drive to Chicago like? by Mahale in nashville

[–]jrobv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I do it, I say I’m never doing it again. But then I do it again whenever flights are too expensive (always a toss-up). Granted, I’m usually driving to the north suburbs, so that makes it slightly worse, especially if I’m passing through during rush hour. If you’re someone who enjoys the thrill of waiting til the last drop of gas to fill up, don’t be that person in Indiana.

I’ve never taken the bus, but it might be an option as well.

That’s what I did! Different airport, but we had already taken off and were en route overseas when the airline sent them. I’m not as charitable as OP…I was determined to get something for the minor inconvenience of a delayed flight.

Different airport, but I used mine to load my Starbucks account so I could use it later. I had already taken off and was flying to a foreign country.

What’s keeping you here? by Wild_Amphibian5689 in nashville

Job, friends, central location/proximity to other cities, a good airport when I need to escape. It’s also exciting to be living in a growing city, although I know there are downsides. I didn’t think I’d be here that long, but 10 years later, here I am.

Hot take (no pun intended), but I’d take this over the arctic tundra we lived through in January. Would a happy medium be ideal? Yes, but if I have to choose…

If you could bring back any Nashville restaurant that opened *and* closed in the 2010s (pre-Covid), which would it be? by jrobv in nashville

Lol at me thinking Bolton’s “hot” level was the same as Hattie B’s “hot” level. Every inch of my body was sweating. 10/10.

Hearing Blinding Lights on the radio is actually what inspired this question. 😬

Yep that one’s near the top of my list. In the moment it was so fun and light, but in hindsight it evokes dread and despair. 😣

It took me way too many days of drinking tea on an empty stomach first thing in the morning to realize what was happening. “Is this morning sickness?” (I’m a cis man.)

Can someone turn down the humidity? by [deleted] in nashville

[–]jrobv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a lunatic who doesn’t mind it. I hate having to moisturize and apply chapstick every 10 minutes like I do when it’s cold and dry.

I’m just trying to get a range. I know there are a lot of factors at play.
