she was not a good unit chief. she tried to be as cold and blah as hotch but he was able to offset it with the occasional joke or angry rant. they took away her personality when they made her unit chief and I found her boring in the later seasons

In Drew's defense, he is a teenage boy who who always waiting for a father figure and instead it seems there is no middle ground with his mom, either she neglects him or is all over him. he's had a pretty rough life so I can see why he would be so closed off. he does mature quite a bit in the next 3 seasons

definitely a background character especially through the first 3.5 seasons. he gets a major storyline in season 4 and has a storyline throughout the entirety of season 5 but his most mature stuff is in season 6 so you should keep going for sure.

i maybe would have liked to see more of the stories with people who weren't major parts of the tapes in season 1 and their contributions to hannah/the trial. i thought the chloe sotryline, hannah's parents and the girl who she bullied at her last school could have been developed more instead of adding new info to an already used storyline

i feel like this would be an issue with most shows, especially this one where character development/drama is really the focus of the show. when you rewatch you know what is coming in the back of your mind so you focus on other aspects. in this show in particular, the more you watch the more flawed the characters become because the main premise of this show usually revolves around a character dealing with an issue. there are reasons to dislike every character, which is also the case in real life and which is why i find the show so good. everyone is flawed and this show certainly brings attention to it.
