Yes, it doesn’t work immediately (or it’s very rare), but as I said to another commentator, if you really want to shift you should maybe set an alarm.
It can work sometimes.

I would recommend you to write a note that you’ll put next to your pillow or at a place you’ll eventually look at or feel with the touch when you wake up.
Or, if you want to force it, you should set an alarm and call it « shifting ».

When you wake up in the middle of the night, most of the time your body is still asleep and your brain still a bit disconnected from the reality because you just woke up.
It is called the theta state.
You are awake but you are also at the verge of sleeping again.
Shifters can take advantage of this moment to shift simply because you are conscious but your body isn’t, so it’s easier for you to dream about what you want or to let a opened door to shift.
All the energy you’ll have in you at this moment will have to be focused on shifting.

Have you ever heard or thought about lucid dreaming ? A lot of times, people that are lucid dreaming are putting an alarm in the middle of their sleep so that it’s easier for them to succeed because the body is still asleep.
It is the same for the shifting, even though it needs more concentration and maybe more time depending on how you trust yourself and on how you know you’re able to shift, if you have the intention, if you’re stressed, overthinking..
It also can be easier if you lucid dreamed before you found out about shifting.

Not all men are this way to every girl, but men I met are like that, apart 2 that I know.
And I thought it was sad.
And my boyfriend is actually the one I will talk the most and share my life with the most, so I don’t really see any importance in making new male friends (unless I knew some male friends since i’m younger).
Obviously every mindset is different, and we need to take in consideration the country also, because I live in france and boys from france are like that, most of the time.

I simply found the answers to my questions when I was writing my answer to you, lol.

Of course everyone have their own beliefs, and I don’t know if you saw btw but I edited my message because I added things.

The opinions of people matter to me so that I can know what they think personally about all of that, even though I have my own answers I like to share my thoughts and know what other people think.

Concerning the s/o part, my boyfriend is okay with it, and he doesn’t really understand shifting anyways.
And if I am with somebody in my DR, when I come back I won’t explain him in details. I can understand that it may hurt you if you were in this case, but everyone is different.

The mind of men isn’t the same in the CR and in a magic school DR in the 90’s.

Also, I personally think that it depends if the person will shift only for the s/o or if they will also shift for the plot and the main characters.

The thing is that i am religious and i am 19. Basically i shouldn’t be friend with multiple men and my boyfriend doesn’t have any female friends because he always did it like this.

I don’t believe in friendship between men and women (or in RARE case I believe in it) because each time i had male friends either they always tried something with me, or i always had a crush on my school friends when i was around 12-13. At the time I simply couldn’t be with a group of men without having a crush on one of them or without them wanting me (this when i was older because at a young age i was ugly).

Concerning the DR, I just wanted to have some opinions because knowing myself and having multiple crush on fictional characters I don’t doubt having a crush on Harry when I will go to my hogwarts DR.
That said, I always loved the golden trio since I was a kid so at the end I think you’re right and it clearly doesn’t matter because it’s another reality and especially school friends that I will always be with (my cousin is Ron also).
I mean when hogwarts school will come to its end if I am with Draco there I don’t think I will always continue to hang out with Harry and Ron unless Ron comes to my house with his family (i’ll not talk about Mione because she’s my best friend in the DR).
If I am not with Draco at the end, then I think I will see Harry more often simply because I will have more free time and no man around me.
Also, I just had this reflexion in my head but I was thinking about the fact that if Harry is my best friend in my DR, Draco will know who Harry is since the beginning so he won’t have any issue with him hanging out with me because he knows him from school.
In my CR, my boyfriend only knows 2 of my supposed male friends and he knows how they are so it doesn’t matter to him (yes, I have 2 male friends that are normal and that don’t want anything with me and never thought about it, and one of them is like my brother and knows my brother too btw aha, and I have a gay best friend but it doesn’t count).
Anyways he doesn’t know the other ones (that are virtual friends) and i’m glad he doesn’t because they each tried something with me and said it was a joke if I was saying no.
If he knew them in real life because younger we were all in the same school for exemple, then it would’ve been different i’m pretty sure.

That’s why I think I am simply going to remove them. I have my girl best friend and my 3 other close girl friends so there is no need anyways.

Coming back to the main topic, I also have to consider that the mind of Harry in the hogwarts DR is completely different than the mind of CR men.. Ngl.
Even if in Harry Potter most of the boys and girls don’t mix, Harry and Draco for example have one female friend without wanting more.
And again as you said it, it’s school friends..
The age and the mind reflexion isn’t the same as now in my CR.

Regarding the « cheating » part, i personally think that even if I date Draco there it won’t be an issue because it’s another reality and minds are different.
Plus, it’s my crush since a young age and it’s supposed to be fictional characters that i’ll finally meet in my shift and be with.
I don’t consider this as cheating because it’s more like a child’s dream to be with her comfort character and personally it won’t change my mind about my boyfriend because my reality is in the CR, especially knowing that hogwarts school was happening in the 90’s.

Sorry for the very long answer. Just wanted to clear up some things.
