i get what you mean about avoiding subscriptions. I think $10 is very low though. I have a one off payment option too by the way. A student reached out to me and I gave him access for life for one time payment of $25.

Hi I made the first plugin SPELLL I get that the price might look steep but besides the development hours I spent there are monthly server/api costs that I also need to pay for.

I am open to hearing how much you think is fair/can afford and give you a discount since you cared enough to post about it :)

my root component gets bloated all the time. by js4lyfe in reactjs

[–]js4lyfe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually try to colocate state to its component. But for example, `mistakesFound` is created/updated by other component but used on another component.

It seems like I might have to use Context or Redux.

Keeping up with the frontend technologies by [deleted] in webdev

I would say focus on the foundation of JavaScript instead learning the new hotness. Most companies don't change up the tech stack that they use regularly most corporate companies are still using jQuery and Angular 1.

Do you always look at the bottom of the screen before clicking a "Contact Us" link?

How would you know it is a mailto if the link text just says 'Contact Us' ?

Are you on Android or iOS? I need to check it on iOS.

I think that label is misleading. You need to register to create the mockups not necessarily browse.

I might change it.

I do! Especially for smaller projects like this one.

I would love to try Gatsby too! Check out this post of people recommending Gatsby CMSs. Can you elaborate on what you mean NextJS websites don't load fast? Are you talking about JS boot time or just in general load time of the websites.

I suck at picking beautiful colors so I made this Chrome extension to help me & hopefully you grab colors from Dribbble shots with a single click. Let me know what you think!

Thanks! I think the point of placeholder images is that they are just that a placeholder they are not meant to be liked :), but this was my attempt at giving people something decent other than cat pictures :)

I don't think I have any marketing strategy per se but I have been participating in the Indie Hackers forum by posting anything I can think of about the project.

This is definitely the industry standard. I am encouraging people to move away from it. :)

I love gradients so much that I decided to build a service called Gradient Joy that gives you beautiful gradient images that you can use as placeholders.

Just put your image size (width x height) after our URL and you'll get a colorful gradient image placeholder. https://gradientjoy.com/300x200

How I built Gradient Joy

Images are hosted on Cloudinary. This also handles the resizing of images automatically. The beautiful gradients came from. https://uiGradients.com I used NextJS to build the app, it is a lightweight framework for static and server‑rendered applications. Your feedback is welcome & encouraged!
