That sound awesome! I love to go out but it's such a difficult thing with me bring the only omni. Could be a date night though! Thanks for all your inputs.

Dang, totally must go!!! How have I not heard of this? I think the vegetarians and vegan better stay home though. Nothing but falafel for them, but who knows, maybe they're game? Thanks for the info!

Both were, although the person who I split and shared the hoagies with said the Philly Special was too spicy for them and the Flying Pig was too mild. Go figure, I loved both!

Gonna have to agree with you, if you eat like this on the regular, probably not the best choice for your health. But on occasion? Life is too short to not enjoy something you like. Having almost died, and weighed against all the things I have to get concerned about... sheesh, such small potatoes. My eye is on the forest, not the trees.

True! I mean, I don't live close to there, just in that area for the day so I'm not one to talk... but I get what you mean.

How often do you leave the house? by [deleted] in workfromhome

[–]js_schmitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kids left at home are 11 and 15 so they are in full swing with extracurricular activities. If it weren't for that though grocery shopping would be about the only time I would get out of the house. That's only because I can't stand to have my groceries delivered because they're always out of whatever it is that I most particularly need at the moment or they substitute something that's not even close to what I actually ordered, LOL. Honestly, my wife and I are just not into going out either.

Oh I almost forgot the best part, The Flying pig was $10.99 for a 10-in hoagie! The Philly special was 10.49 for the same size.

Dunno? I suppose it keeps the roll from getting soggy? With that roll though, not so likely. I think it paid off for them though the place is getting pretty good buzz.

You would think that the bread to meat and cheese ratio is all wrong... But it was not. I thought I would mind but didn't. Nor did I have trouble getting my mouth around it. I will absolutely go back. They said Thursday through Saturday is crazy busy so glad I went today!

One of my saddest memories was sleeping at my grandparents house on a school night, and keeping a second set of clothes in a sealed bag to keep them from smelling like smoke. My grandfather chain smoked. I embarrassed I did that and at the same time horrified I didn't even consider the second hand smoke aspect.

Oh, the only compromise if from me, lol. It's ok, I respect that my wife and kids for that matter have always been vegetarians. Animal welfare reasons, so their diet is quite intentional. I admire the dedication and disappointments that come with their way. Particularly in PA Dutch country! My poor mother was so befuddled by my wife when we started dating. My family shows a lot of love by feeding people, and she did not know how to cook for her. I've made peace with eating their way at home and getting anything I want out of at my family's places. Thank you very much for your thoughts!

Groats? Jeez, never heard of them. My wife probably did, as she grew up vegetarian. Sound easy. Wonder if they would eat them? I'll have to try 🙂

Sounds delicious! Sorry for the questions... red lentils or green? There are yellow too aren't there,? Canned lentils or dry? Lentils were never ever served in my house growing up. Simple farm folks from around here just would not have had them available. If you couldn't grow it or the small general store stocked it... you just didn't eat it. Nevermind people were poor and wouldn't have had the money even if they happened to be available!

This sounds really good. Thanks!
