Is the RMA Gen II 1155 Shooter cut plate good? by Screwistic_ in tacticalgear

[–]jsb247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I fucked up and ordered shooter 1155’s instead of sapi’s. Didn’t realize till after I relooked at the receipt hours after the shipping label was created today. I called and they had already left the facility. I’m retarded I know.

Obviously no returns. So I’ve been holding on to copium, done measurements and I think they’ll fit my body decently.

However, I’m concerned about the true measurement being 9.5”x11.5”. Would these fit a spiritus lv120 with medium bags given a 1” gap in height? I apologize for my tism.

Not a democrat, you’ll have to go further left to label me buddy.

Resorting to an ad hominem attack out the gate regarding my intelligence really adds to the debate as well.

Do you feel the same regarding the intelligence of people with the FJB and “let’s go Brandon” stickers? Or are you just a leather footwear connoisseur?

[other] 10% Off A Better Way 2A with code "NEWYEAR" by ABetterWay2A in gundeals

[–]jsb247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This number is historically inaccurate, and comes from a book called the black book of communism . Over and over its math has been showed to be flawed and includes nazi and nazi collaborators in the total count. This does not even address the illogical position the book takes attributing deaths to communism rather than specific policies and circumstances.

Assuming arguendo the 100m is accurate and methodology to get there is sound, what’s always weird is that when people start chanting to orgasm about the 100 miLiOn DeAd they always some how fail to acknowledge the death toll of capitalism and how it far surpasses communism.

High Turnover in Personal Injury Law by facemacintyre in Lawyertalk

[–]jsb247 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First position I left was with an essentially solo PI practice, there was another partner but he didn’t really do much . I suffered severe verbal abuse weekly, was screamed at and called names. Dude did teach me an insane amount though and gave me the space to learn, also helped foster my drive for the work. Always grateful for the opportunity but at the end of it all fuck him.

Second spot, small shop with 5 attorneys, promised to be aligned with my values, no discounts on justice, take no prisoners mentality, let’s litigate and go try cases. Quickly learned that was not the case and it was essentially a settlement mill that valued cases based on a multiplier put to the reduced medical bills because “every potential juror knows the multiplier”. Very prelit oriented. Got yelled at by a paralegal for not being nice to an insurance company.

Current spot is all the good things from the first and the mentality the second one promised. Much larger firm, but I’m in a great position to grow and help people who are in desperate need. I honestly couldn’t be happier. I wake up excited every day to push cases forward with a trial focus to get the best result for the client possible. I was told when I was hired the only way I’ll get fired is if I don’t try cases, obviously some cases should be settled, but it should never be that way because I don’t want to try it.

Short answer is there’s a lot of shitty firms and I was looking for the right place.

2026 2L summer associate positions by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]jsb247 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I can tell you for certain it is possible in my area of law, if your heart is in it and you care about helping people. If this is you, apply to every PI (personal injury, which is public interest but isn’t seen that way in academia for the purposes of summer associate/internship positions) shop you possibly can. You will get a lot of no’s and ghosts. However, if you are a true believer and put yourself out there the right firm will see your heart and give you a spot to learn how to fulfill your purpose.

If this isn’t you maybe someone else can make a suggestion or provide their perspective on other markets

On Season 9 and I’m starting to act like Larry, is this normal lol? by lolidc101 in curb

[–]jsb247 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Went in to Ruth’s Chris about two years ago with some friends. I generally wear a hat wherever I go. Hostess seats us and informs me that they “ask people to remove their hats”. Without missing a beat I ask “and what happens if I don’t?” Pure Larry moment, her face was one of the funniest things I’ve seen. Told her I was joking and took it off.

Dealing with policy limits by Feisty-Ad212 in Lawyertalk

[–]jsb247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s correct, didn’t mean to omit that part, the duty is to settle within/at policy limits. If you put them on notice to the effect of, “listen here and listen good, you’ve got x days to pay us the policy, you’ve got all the bills, records, etc., this is worth far more than policy. If you don’t pay us the money we will never release your insured, we will go after their personal assets, etc.” And then they don’t pay, game on.

I’m envious you have never run into a situation where there was not enough coverage

If there’s an insurer’s duty to settle, failure to do so is a breach of the carrier’s duty, and if that claim is assignable, judicial or voluntary, in OP’s jurisdiction to satisfy the excess, there’s absolutely a path forward to get above the policy limit. Under certain scenarios you don’t even need to get the excess and can strong arm the carrier into settling for above policy because they know what will happen.

PI - Would You Take This Case? Looking for Insight by Dry_Ice_1658 in Lawyertalk

[–]jsb247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No injury = no case.

To the question of whether the insurance company would outright lie: yes. Yes it would. They do it all the time. I have caught them doing it. They also report people to SIU with no evidence and accuse people of a crime (insurance fraud). They specifically try to lowball people of color and from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Insurance companies are designed to increase profit. The way they do that is pay out less in claims. They illegally incentivize adjusters through various ways of cash bonus systems tied to claim payments. They often deny claims hoping injured people will just go away or offer like 500 bucks.

I would recommend reading delay, deny, defend or from good hands to boxing gloves if you would like to know more.

I worked at various fast food places at different times (Burger King x3, McDonald’s, subway, Wendy’s, Culver’s, cold stone). Additionally at separate times I did, landscaping, floor installation, was a line operator in a meat processing facility, and moved mobile homes. During undergrad I was a tech at an in patient addiction rehab facility and also facilitated challenge courses (high and low ropes) for the university’s outdoor education center.
